The Joomla! Framework™ is a PHP framework which provides a structurally sound foundation on which to develop PHP applications, which is easy to adapt and easy to extend.[2]

It was formed from elements of the Joomla! CMS™ which were separated, with the launch of the Joomla! Framework on 1st December 2013.[3]

The Joomla! Framework is free and open source software, distributed under the GNU General Public License version 2 or later.

Installing

The Joomla! Framework can be installed via Composer - the list of packages is available from Packagist.
