Template:Infobox Olympics SloveniaSlovenia first participated as an independent nation at the Olympic Games in 1992, and has sent athletes to compete in every Games since then. Slovenian athletes first competed at the Olympics in 1912 as a part of the Austrian team, when Rudolf Cvetko became the first Slovene winning an Olympic medal, a silver in team sabre.[1] Then, until the independence, they competed as a part of Yugoslavia. Only olympic summer medals for Kingdom of Yugoslavia before WW2 were won by Slovenian athletes. In those pre-war times Slovenian sportsmen were very successful in gymnastics, where they achived 8 medals. Three gold, two silver and three bronze medals. Most successfull sportsman was late Leon Štukelj(3 Gold, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze). He is still the most decorated Slovenian Olympic sportsman.
This list only contains Olympic medal winners for Slovenia as an independent country. Among listed medalists, Sadik Mujkić also won two Olympic medals, one of which was a bronze at the 1988 Summer Olympics for Yugoslavia.
