The 2014 Asia Cup will be the 12th edition of the Asia Cup One Day International cricket tournament. The tournament will be held in Bangladesh from 25 February to 8 March 2014 with Pakistan as the defending champions.[1] The tournament will include the four Asian test-playing nations, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka; and ICC Associate member Afghanistan. This will be the first 50-over tournament in which Afghanistan has taken part. The total number of matches are 10 league matches with a final.[2]

The squad for India had MS Dhoni as captain but he was ruled out due to injury and was replaced with Virat Kohli as captain andDinesh Karthik as wicket-keeper. Shakib Al Hasan suffers a match ban, hence he stays out of the first two matches against India and Afganistan. Tamim Iqbal has been ruled out due to injury from the Bangladesh squad.[9]
