The Gerson High School, with a history dating back to 1970, offers an alternative educational experience for adolescents in grades 9 - 12 who, for various personal, behavioral and/or relationship reasons, have not been successful in standard school settings. Most students have average to above-average abilities, but exhibit characteristics such as depression, being bullied, intense anxiety, a history of school absences, suicidal thoughts and a tendency to internalize.

The Gerson High School, fully accredited by the state of Ohio, emphasizes education within a personal and therapeutic environment to affect positive growth in each student. An individual course of study is developed, and each student is assigned a faculty advisor who provides monitoring, evaluation and support. Faculty is certified in special education and come from the Educational Service Center of Cuyahoga County, Applewood Centers and Cleveland Metropolitan Schools.

It is located in Cleveland, Ohio.
