Plot summary

Sanskaar - Dharohar Apnon Ki is the story of Jai Kishan, the dedicated and cultured son of the Vaishnav family that lives in Keshavgarh. He wants to stay with his family, but situations force him to leave his home and got to the US. The show will deal with his stay in a foreign land, and how he keeps his tradition close to his heart even when he's away from his homeland. Jai Kishan Vaishnav's journey to US has not been so fruitful for him till now. However, his expedition becomes joyous as he meets another Gujarati, Urmila Patel at a Lord Krishna temple. As fate would have it, his struggles continue with the loss of his luggage.Looking for his missing luggage, Jai Kishan reaches the office where he has to join. On the other hand, a policeman informs the Vaishnavs that burning of their mill was not an accident. Meanwhile, Jai Kishan struggles to join his job without the documents. To face a strict boss adds to his troubles.

Jai Kishan reluctantly receives the call of his family, but lies to them and hides his pitiful condition in a foreign country. He gets into trouble as police catches him without passport, but a young Muslim man, Shaukat from India saves him. Jai Kishan decides to announce on radio about his problem. On the other hand, Vaishnav family financially supports one of their employees in getting his daughter, Bharti, married to an affluent family.Finally He gets Back the passport and all his documents from Bhooomi, Urmila's Grand daughter. And he joins his job. But he forgets to collect the passport from Bhoomi.

Jai Kishan is suspected to be a terrorist after being found without a passport and gets arrested by NYPD. Meanwhile, Bhoomi finds his passport and rushes to give it to him. At one hand, Kishan's mother prays to Lord Krishna to keep her son away from trouble, and on the other hand, Bhoomi comes to his rescue with his passport and gets him out of the lockup. When Urmila comes to know that Jai Kishan has been thrown out of Shaukat's house by his landlord, she generously brings him to her house. Meanwhile, Bhoomi prays to Lord Krishna to meet Jai Kishan once more, and her wish comes true instantly as he rings the bell of her house. Bhoomi gets shocked to know that Kishan has come to stay with them. Bhoomi and Urmila Patel makes Kishan to stay in their house without the knowledge of Gayatri, Bhoomi's mother. But when she comes to know about this she get angry but allows Kishan to stay in the house for 7 days. Bhoomi and Kishan work together in Gayatri's office and fall in love for each other in due course.

Gayatri hates Indians because of her past bad experiences in life. But Urmila Patel wants Bhoomi to marry to an Indian. She understands Bhoomi's love for Kishan. But Gayathri wants Bhoomi to be married to Rammy, an American born Indian. Gayatri insults Kishan at Rammy's party due to which Bhoomi gets hurt and confesses her love for Kishan in front of everybody but Kishan says that he has a lot of responsibility and no time to love. Kishan leaves Bhoomi's house. But Gayatri fires Kishan the very next day and also cancels his work permit with the help of Rammy due to which he will be forced to leave U.S. within 36 hours. Bhoomi challenges her mom to stop Kishan in U.S. and finds a solution as marriage. Kishan initially does not agree with Bhoomi by later confesses his love for Bhoomi but wants the permission of his family for marriage. At the same time Bharti's marriage gets called off due to imitation jewels bought by Ketki. Ansu baa fixes Bharti's marriage with Kishan. In some urgency and miscommunication Kishan thinks that their family accepted his marriage and marries Bhoomi.

Kishan gets a contract from a Businessman named Shukla who was impressed by Kishan's presentation and decides to leave for India with Bhoomi immediately. On reaching his home everyone gets shocked of the marriage and Ansubaa does not accept their marriage and Kishan and Bhoomi are about to leave but Parul stops them. Ansubaa agrees to lets Kishan and Bhoomi stay in the house but put a condition that she will accept Bhoomi as the daughter-in-law of the family if she passes the 9 tests which she will keep for Bhoomi. Bhoomi initially struggles the tests. Meanwhile Bharti tries to commit suicide and Bhoomi saves her. Bharti leaves the house with her father. Bhoomi struggles in her tests. Meanwhile Amritlal tries to usurp the mill illegally with the help of Hasmukh Vaishnav. But Kishan and Bhoomi exposes Amritlal in front of the mill laborers and police and finally passes the test in flying colors by helping Kishan reopen the mill successfully and gets the title of Bahurani from Ansubaa.

Paddy Bhoomi's rakhi brother comes from U.S. to meet her. Meanwhile Amritlal's men creates trouble to Vaishnav family's mill by making cancelling the order for the mill. Paddy's order for several shirts gets cancelled from his supplier. Bhoomi uses the opportunity and asks Paddy to give the order to Kishan without the knowledge that he gave this on her insistence which he does. Bhoomi is upset with Kishan as he did not tell her and does not speak with him, Kishan manages to make her happy. But when Kishan comes to know that Paddy gave the order on Bhoomi's insistence from Nans, he gets hurt and goes out with Dilip for a meeting due to which Bhoomi gets hurt. Ansubaa and Parul makes Kishan realize his mistake and patches them.

Kishan plans for a honeymoon but Ketki spoils it by making it a family trip. But Kishan pretends to be ill and stays with Bhoomi so that he can spend time with her alone at home while the others go for the trip. At the same time Vaishnav family meets with an accident and are saved by Bharti. They ask Bharti to return to Vaishnav Haveli which she accepts. Later it is revealed that Bharti has returned with vengeance to take revenge with the Vaishnav Family for whatever has done with her. She starts to create problem in the family using the MD selection in the family. Amritlal's men kidnap Bhoomi. Kishan searches for her but ends up in vain. At the same time Bharti sends a message to Kishan from Bhoomi's mobile that she can't adjust with their family anymore and so she left him. Kishan gets shocked and hurt and the whole family too are shocked. Kishan does not believe this and feels there's something wrong behind this. After sometime Ansubaa receives a call from Amritlal demanding the mills document in return of Bhoomi.

Kishan and Dilip go to rescue Bhoomi but gets caught but Amritlal's goons. Amritlal takes Bhoomi to trade her in Mumbai. Kishan escapes from the goons and rescues Dilip and Moves to Mumbai to rescue Bhoomi from Amritlal. He comes to know from his friend Vikki who informs about Vasu(of Na Bole Tum... Na Maine Kuch Kaha(a look alike of Mohan Bhatnagar)) who is the only one who can help him. Kishan helps Akash(of Uttaran) from being robbed Raghuvendra Pratap Rathore also joins them to help. In return Akash and Raghuvendra Pratap Rathore voluntarily help Kishan to find Bhoomi. Vasu initially denies to help but later joins them and the four rescue Bhoomi from Amritlal. Amritlal get arrested. Bhoomi due to weakness and trauma falls very sick and get admitted in hospital. Kishan takes care of her.

Bhoomi and Kishan return. But Bharti continues to create problems in the family. Bhoomi identifies Bharti's evil intentions and confronts her. Kishan does not support Bhoomi against Bharti. Bharti uses Avni as a trump to create problems in the house. She joins hands with a guy Akshay to trap her in his love and create trouble in the family. Bharti succeeds in creating problems and making the family members against Kishan and Bhoomi. Kishan and Bhoomi leaves the house and lives in a separate room. They start a small new company. Ankit becomes the MD of the mill and marries Bharti. Bharti becomes the bahurani of the house and start to dominate the house due to which all the members of the house leave the house and go and live with Kishan and Bhoomi. Later, due to the mismanagement of the company by Ankit both the house and mill comes to auction. Meanwhile Kishan and Bhoomi win a fashion designing competition and saves the property by buying back the property in the auction with the prize money won in the competition. Ankit gives divorce to Bharti and she leaves the house. Urmila Patel and Gayathri come to India to see Bhoomi and Kishan. Finally Gayathri accepts Kishan and Bhoomi's marriage and accepts her fault.

The whole family stay united and lives happily.

Plot summary Season 2

The storyline jumps to six years later.

Jai still doesn't believe in God and is always serious and never smiles. Aarvi is 6 years old now and she is the only one who can bring a smile on Jai's face. Ansuba's niece and her two sons are forcing Ansuba to give her half their land. When Ansuba refuses to give them land, they kidnap Aarvi. Kishan goes out to find Aarvi and takes the help of a girl who sells toys Who is called dhara and saves Aarvi.
