Haji Shah (Urdu: شاہحاجی) is a town located at north-west of Pakistan in Attock District of the Punjab province Pakistan. It is located approximately half-way between Peshawar and Islamabad, Village area of Attock is known as Haji Shah.It is a big village having lot of Masjids, schools, and of course population. Actually it is not a village now because every facility like gas, water, electercity, internet, telephone is available in Haji Shah village like a city.
Haji Shah Dam
Punjab Minister for Irrigation Mian Yawar Zaman has said that the Punjab govt has been taking tangible measures to promote agriculture and improve the socioeconomic condition of the [[farmers]. He stated this during his visit to the under [[construction] Haji Shah Dam being built at a cost of Rs357.247 million and will be completed by the end of this year. The minister said that this dam would cover an area of 15.5 square km and will help irrigate 1,520 acres of land. He said that the construction of this dam would be completed by the end of this year which would not only irrigate barren land under cultivation but would also become a source of clean drinking water for the residents of surrounding areas. The provincial minister said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif wanted to bring green revolution in the province and for the purpose small dams were being built in the areas where there was no proper irrigation system available. He emphasised upon the officers concerned to ensure quality work of construction, warning that no irregularity would be tolerated in this regard. The minister also constituted a committee to recommend alterations in the drawing of the dam.
Haji Shah dam to cost Rs. 200m A sum of Rs. 200 million will be spent on the construction of Haji Shah [[dam] here in the area which is expected to be completed by June 2009, said Chairman Punjab Task Force Col (retd) Shuja Khanzada. He said on completion, the project will bring green revolution in the area and help raise the living standard of common people. With the provision of green tractors to the small farmers, agriculture sector will boost in addition to further increasing the income of growers, he said. Appreciating the bold steps in the field of agriculture, Shuja said that the chief minister is focusing on solving the problems faced by agriculture sector which will boost their confidence and help them further promoting the agriculture production.
