Beyton Middle School enrols about 720 pupils from age 10 to 13 with the majority of students coming from surrounding villages. Children mostly go onto Thurston Community College, Stowupland High School or County Upper School. The school will close in July 2014 as part of a reorganisation of schools by Suffolk County Council. This will see students stay in primary school to age 11 when they will transfer to one of the secondary schools in the area.
