Yabba (also incorrectly "Yabber") (v)(v.tr) pron. "Yä-bä"

1. A term (possibly invented) and most certainly brought to the United States and coined by the imminent Bell Labs associate - Tom Reddington - in attempting to use the native Australian Pidgin word, describing the way indigenous Australians talk.....

2. Word origin can be traced to Fred Flintstone - formerly of Bedrock, USA - who was oft heard yelling "Yabba Dabba Doo"... Also see: Words of Australian Origin: [1]

3. Yabba was the nickname of Stephen Gascoigne, a well-known heckler at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
