Queen Angella

Queen Angella is a fictional character in the animated television series She-Ra: Princess of Power. She is the Queen of Brightmoon, and therefore the rightful ruler of Etheria. Angella possesses a pair of wings which allow her to fly. Her daughter is Glimmer, Princess of Brightmoon.

Character History

Some years before the Horde occupation of Etheria, Angella and Micah, King and Queen of Brightmoon had a child they named Glimmer. They lived in peace for many years and then the Horde arrived. Micah left his wife and daughter so he could fight them. Angella and Glimmer were left to fend for themselves. The Horde captured Brightmoon, when Angella went missing during battle. During Angella's absence Glimmer formed a Rebellion, hoping one day to see her parents again and rid Brightmoon of The Horde. It was only years later when She-Ra and He-Man released Angella from a spell she was under that she was reunited with her daughter. It would not be until much later that she would be reunited with her husband. It appears that although Angella has magical abilities, Micah is a mortal.

Angella was bestowed with the Moonstone, a gift from her ancestors, to power Castle Brightmoon. It appears that this could also be the source of her powers and enabling her to use her wings to fly. However, away from Brightmoon, Angella is powerless, a disadvantage that did not affect her daughter Glimmer. Despite this weakness, aside from She-Ra she is regarded as the most powerful of the Rebel leaders. When at her full strength she is more than a match for the Horde alone. Angella at her most powerful has, like her daughter the ability to fly, and fire beams of light from her hands, which can stun or disable her opponents. A power unique to Angella is the power to temporarily open portal to other worlds, which indicates that her power is superior to that of her daughter.
