Demographics
France did not experience a swift recovery from the Black death. Quite the opposite: as the site of the fighting in the Hundred Years' War the country was slower than most to recover. Durova 15:30, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
Switched sections
I moved the history section above that containing geography, demographics and language. History is what the article is about, and also I think it's hard to make sense of the geography section in particular, without knowledge of the history of that period. Equendil Talk 20:25, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- I reverted your change for the simple reason that all of the History of France subpages have these same sections and this same order. This being said, if the general consensus of the History of France major contributers/editors is for change, then we can go ahead with it... but this should be discussed at length first. I personally see the value of these sections being first, for they "set the stage" for the historical overview that follows, but others may disagree. --NYArtsnWords 20:33, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- Fair enough, do you know where that discussion could take place ? On the History of France talk page or is there a portal of some sort that is active ? Equendil Talk 20:45, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'd say the History of France talk page would be fine, although you could also just put a quick note on the talk pages of Early Modern France, France in the nineteenth century and France in the twentieth century sending people to one page (say, here) for the discussion.
