Theda Clark Medical Center is located in Neenah, Wisconsin. It was established in 1909, when Theda Clark Peters, daughter of Charles B. Clark and a renowned community activist herself, died in her home while giving birth. Recognizing the extreme need for an area hospital, her family donated $96,000 to build a hospital in her memory, and later donated another $50,000 to establish a fund to pay for care for those who couldn't afford it. [1]

Theda Clark Hospital was the first in the area to provide things such as:

  • Aylward Surgery, Stroke Center, Eye Center, and rehabilitation facilities.
  • ThedaStar helicopter (first in state outside of Madison and Milwaukee)
  • Single-room maternity suites.
