License tagging for File:IanTBensonCanada.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:IanTBensonCanada.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:05, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:IanTBensonCanada.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:IanTBensonCanada.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:22, 26 February 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 12:22, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Response

Thank you for the information. I have referred my question to the Media Copyright Questions Page.

Please sign your posts

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 02:22, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image licenses

Ewoll, Wikipedia only accepts photos where the copyright holder has explicitly granted a license under an acceptable free content license, such as the GNU Free Documentation License or the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license. Apart from such a declaration on the copyright holder's part, there is no tag to choose because no such license exists. Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission has instructions on requesting copyright permission and Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries has a letter that the copyright holder can use to provide us with the necessary permission. If you receive a letter of permission, please forward it to permissions-commons‐at‐wikimedia.org. --B (talk) 02:42, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Correction Made: Unsure how to delete originally uploaded file

Thank you for the information and advice. I have uploaded another photograph which is under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license. I am however unsure how to delete the file that I originally uploaded. I am aware that it will be deleted automatically, but I would prefer to remove it myself if this is possible before the time. It does not violate copyright, but is not in alignment with current Wikipedia:Media policy. (Ewooll (talk) 05:40, 1 March 2011 (UTC))[reply]

You can put {{db-author}} (two curly brackets each side) on the file, which means "author requests deletion". JohnCD (talk) 23:02, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

As a talk page stalker, I saw your note on Orange Mike's talk page. I'm sorry to see that nobody has given you a "Welcome paragraph", so I will add a standard one just below which will give you some useful links. But Orange Mike's message is exactly right - plunge in and do things. You will make mistakes, but don't worry - that's how one learns. There is a useful guide at WP:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle to how Wikipedia works - if you see a change you think will improve the encyclopedia, be BOLD and make it. If someone then reverts it, don't make it again and maybe start an WP:Edit war; discuss it on the article talk page and try to reach a WP:Consensus. JohnCD (talk) 22:58, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for the welcome and the links JohnCD. I have already used the Tutorial and the How to edit a page. I like the similarities to academic writing, but it is the inner workings of the system that I find challenging. This will be an interesting journey. I will probably be taking you up on your offer in terms of asking questions in the future. (Ewooll (talk) 06:39, 2 March 2011 (UTC))[reply]

How do I get an article reviewed?

Hi I recently finished editing my first article. The original article was graded as "start class". I have done significant revision to the article and would like it to be looked at again in terms of grading. How do I do this? Thank You (Ewooll (talk) 22:21, 23 March 2011 (UTC)) I guess you mean Iain Benson? (Tip: when you refer to an article, it's helpful to provide a link). As it's a biography, look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/Assessment, where there is a section "Requesting an assessment." Add it to the bottom of that list. You can get general comments at WP:Requests for feedback, but I don't think they do assessments as such. JohnCD (talk) 22:46, 23 March 2011 (UTC) Thank You. Yes that is the article. I will remember for future reference. Much appreciate the help. (Ewooll (talk) 07:56, 24 March 2011 (UTC))

Hi. When you recently edited The Juniper Passion, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Davies (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jozef Lupták, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Slovak and Classical (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).
