ActivTrades is a global online broker authorized by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK. It offers fully automated trading services with direct execution in Forex, Contracts for Difference (CFDs), and Spread Betting, aimed at both private and institutional investors.[1]

History

Founder and Chairman Alex Pusco established ActivTrades in Switzerland in 2001 and moved to London’s “Square Mile” in 2005. In 2009, ActivTrades became more prevalent in Europe, especially in Italy and Germany as well as in South America, Russia, and South East Asia.[2]

In 2012, ActivTrades significantly expanded its presence in the UK, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia, as well as strengthen its position across Central Europe. The company also became a regular sponsor of the World of Trade Conference and has supported the conference for several years in a row.[3]

ActivTrades was also the first UK broker authorised to hold client funds to offer extra protection to clients´ funds via a policy underwritten by QBE Underwriting Limited and other participating syndicates at Lloyd’s of London. This insurance covers up to £500,000 as Excess of FSCS Insurance.

Awards and Recognition

ActivTrades received recognition from a few different sources for its growth and services in 2013. ActivTrades received in 2013 recognition from Real Business, who listed the company in the Investec Hot 100 as the fastest-growing online broker in the UK and they were also recognized as the number 6 among the UK’s fastest growing companies.[4]

In Dubai, they achieved the Best Retail FX Provider award as part of the Investment Opportunities and Wealth Management Conference, and also received an award for Fastest Growing FX Provider in the Middle East when they attended the Forty Currency Markets and Oil and Gold Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.[5]

Platforms and Mobile Trading

ActivTrades offers MetaTrader 4 and 5, which is also available for mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Android. All available for the three type of accounts: Classic, Advantage and Islamic. They also provide mobile access via their ActivTrades mobile app, called ActivTrades Access where clients can manage their accounts on the go.[6]
