Victor Jiménez is a Spanish racing driver from Madrid, Spain currently competing in the 2014 Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain driving for the Redline Racing team, in the Pro class. In prior years, Jiménez was in the Pro-Am 1 class.
Racing career
2010 - Formula Palmer Audi
Jiménez competed in the second half of the 2010 Formula Palmer Audi championship. He finished the championship in 16th place with 77 points, with his best result being a 10th place finish at Silverstone.
2011 - Formula Renault BARC
2011 saw Jiménez compete in the Protyre Formula Renault BARC championship, driving for the Fortec Motorsport team. The season was contested over 12 rounds at 6 meetings. Notable highlights for Jiménez were a 6th place finish at Donington Park in round 2 and fastest lap at Brands Hatch in round 4.
He finished the championship in 16th place with 65 points.
2011 - Formula Renault BARC Winter Series
The Formula Renault BARC Winter Series was held over 6 rounds at 2 meetings. The first 4 rounds were at Snetterton with the remaining 2 at Rockingham Motor Speedway
For the Winter Series, Jiménez drove for Hillspeed and of the 6 rounds, he managed 3 second places and 2 third places. These results were sufficient to win the championship with 156 points, despite not winning any of the races.
2012 - Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain
In 2012 Jiménez joined the Porsche Carrera Cup GB with Redline Racing in the Pro-Am 1 class, where he finished 4th in class and 12th overall with 92 points.
His highest place race finish overall was 8th place, on several occasions, however the class results were more successful including 3 wins, 2 second places, 9 third places, 3 fastest laps and 3 pole positions.
2013 - Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain
For 2013 Jiménez remained with Redline Racing and became Pro-Am 1 class champion and finished 6th in the general classification with 194 points.
There were 10 class wins and 2 podiums overall at Croft Circuit and Rockingham Motor Speedway
2014 - Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain
In 2014 Jiménez is competing in the main Pro class and remains with Redline Racing. Whilst entrant numbers have been lower for this season, Victor has so far managed a 2nd and 3rd place finish and is currently 3rd in the overall standings (post-Thruxton).
