The driver went to the floor of the cabin, took out some fuel, and began pouring it in the engine. This, along with a gasoline container that was already inside the bus, caused the bus to set on fire. Out of the 49 passengers on board, only 18 managed to escape safely. This resulted in the death of 32 other passengers.[1]
