The Euro-Atlantic Centre (EAC) is a Slovakian nonprofit, nonpartisan, non-governmental organization organization specializing in the field of international relations and security issues. The EAC was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Banská Bystrica[1], with an additional office in Bratislava.

Aims

The EAC has two main goals:

  1. Towards its members - to train young leaders and help them prepare for their future careers. Beside the leadership skills it also seeks to develop managerial, journalistic, moderator, analytical and networking skills. Through active participation in the EAC activities, the members gain practical knowledge which equips them with comparative advantage when entering the labor force.
  1. Towards society - to inform and educate young people and wide public about topics related to international as well as domestic security issues and foreign affairs.

Activities

  • - conferences for young people from V4 countries, like Vysegrad Youth Forum [1] and Danube Bridges
  • - lectures with special guests (experts, politicians, advisors)
  • - Youth advisory Council (with USA embassy in Slovakia)
  • - national coordinator for ALIANTE competition for high school students (http://www.project-aliante.org/sk/)
  • - help with organizing SBF (slovenské bezpečnostné fórum), GLOBSEC conference
  • - series of lectures about European Union (Speaking Tours),supported by National Convention about European Union
