Template:PopcatSpade and Hand One particularly interesting version of Poker created by the Robert Brown family of Jacksonville Arkansas about 10 years ago is called “Spade and Hand.” The rules are simple; to win one must possess the best Poker hand and the highest dealt denomination Spade at the same time. The spade does not have to factor into the winning hand; simple possession of it is good enough. If the high hand is possessed by one player but the high spade is held by another the hand starts over with the pot remaining in place. A very important tip is to never fold out of the hand! If you do you are out of that hand until someone wins. Therefore during the game players often match bets and raises while holding a dead hand just in case no one wins the game so they will be “alive” for the next deal should there be one. Because of this, limits to the amount and number of raises are often enforced but you can do whatever you want. Games can get really exciting if you have an effective “bluffer” at the table. This variant can be adapted to any Poker Style card game. Try it during your next gaming session and let me know how or if you like it!--Delven1966 (talk) 17:47, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Delven Brown
