Imanol Julián Elías Gil Beltrán (born June 13, 1970 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine-born Puerto Rican actor, model, and entertainer. He is based in Miami, Florida.
Biography
Although Julian Gil was born in Argentina, he was raised in Puerto Rico and considers himself Puerto Rican. He lived for some time in Venezuela as well. He has two sisters. In the beginning of the nineties, he went into modeling. He walked catwalks all over Latin America and appeared in major magazines. This gave him the opportunity to expand his career into acting. He started acting in theater, film, and television in Puerto Rico.
He has starred in many telenovelas, including Valeria, Amor Comprado, Acorralada, Sortilegio and Eva Luna. He began his acting career in theater with the play By the middle if there is no remedy in 1995 in Puerto Rico, then came other works such as The Crime of Father Amaro, Sex, shame and tears and Nine ½ Weeks, among others.
Then he continued with the performance and acted in several telenovelas such as Tres Amigas Puerto Rico, Mi conciencia y yo Ecuador, Decisiones, Miami, Por todo lo alto, RCTV en Venezuela, and in films La caja de sorpresas, El milagro de Coromoto, Más allá del límite, Fuego en el alma and Marina[1] In 2010, Gil landed a role in the telenovela Valientes, where he plays protagonist Leo Soto[2] In 2011 played in telenovela of Jose Alberto Castro La que no podía amar, one of the antagonists.
In 2012 played as protagonist with Laura Carmine ¿Quién eres tú? remake of Mexican telenovela La Usurpadora. In 2014, Julian Gil will be returning star, when he plays main antagonist in Nicandro Diaz Gonzalez's telenovela Hasta el fin del mundo.
Personal life
He was married to Brenda Torres. They have two children: a daughter Nicolle (b. 1987) and a son Julian Jr. (born 1995). In 2006 was relationship with Maritza Bustamante and ended shortly after. In 2010 was relationship he co-star in Eva Luna Sofía Lama. In April 2011 was confirmed that he and actress Marjorie de Sousa were dating, but ended their relationship a couple of months later.[3]
