The Woodbridge Train Station was built in the 1930s as a Depression-era public works project. It currently serves approximately 1,700 riders a day, making it one of the busiest stations on the North Jersey Coast Line.

The station is currently being renovated. Construction began in 2005 on a new train platform and canopy. It is expected to be completed in April of 2007.
