An earlier welcome

One of several previous welcomes I've received since May 2003, while contributing as User:67.100.123.77. I had just created President's Daily Briefing (back then it looked like this...:

Hi. Nice work on President's Daily Briefing. You should really create an account. We could definitely use your help. Thanks again, Meelar 23:07, 8 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Greetings

Hi Kayaker. Just flagging with you that I've raised a query about adding photos to Death pages on the talk page. Nothing personal, I just foresee a space problem if that were allowed to be a general policy. Cheers JackofOz 12:40, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up. I explained myself on Talk:Deaths in 2005, probably to no avail...

Sadr City

That's a damn good find, that image - great work! Sherurcij (talk) (bounties) 01:34, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A Prairie Home Companion (film)

Hi, just looking for a clarification. It looks like you edited the article on Aug 12 2005 to include a reference to "possible cameo appearances from Sora Takenouchi". Seeing as this is a Japanese children's cartoon character, it doesn't seem to make sense in the context of Garrison Keillor, APHC, Robert Altman, etc. Do you know anything more about this? Thanks. A Barnstar for You

A Barnstar!
The Current Events Barnstar

I hereby award you this current events barnstar for your efforts to move Current events to a much better location, at Portal:Current events. joturner 22:04, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Keep up the good work. If you need any assistance with the move, I would be glad to help (go ahead, post a comment on my talk page, especially if the border color is yellow or green). I'll try tackling some of the things you outlined on Talk:Current events. joturner 22:04, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thank you for awarding me a barnstar and for your offer of help. I created a to do list for the migration here. "Updating the currentevents-url in quickbar" is a non-urgent update required at some point, something I haven't researched how to do yet. Since you were the founder of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Current events you might find it interesting to help with that. Thanks again—Kayaker 22:30, 30 June 2006 (UTC).[reply]

I'm quite sure an administrator will have to take care of the quickbar change. When the portal becomes ready for its premiere, we could post something on the administrators' noticeboard. Also, take a look at some of the suggestions from the portal's talk page. I don't want to step on your toes, but the current events page is in dire need of a layout change regarding those right and bottom sidebars (the top one looks great). joturner 22:40, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I hadn't confirmed the need for an administrator to do it, but I suspect you're right. With respect to your suggestions at Portal talk:Current events, I think its great that you're anxious to engage in that discussion. If you've been following along on my proposal to move Current events into the portal namespace, you'll notice that I was anxious to minimize any initial layout and look-and-feel changes to Current events because of its maturity. I also thought it would complicate things to combine the change I proposed with a broader change to the layout. Once the dust settles on the move, I look forward to adding my $0.02 about your proposals, and I look forward to any mockups you end up creating to illustrate your ideas. Thanks—Kayaker (talk · contribs) 23:03, 30 June 2006 (UTC).[reply]
Alright; I'll leave things as-is and just create a mockup in the meantime. joturner 23:05, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
