Wikiproject videogame assessment
Article re-assessed as B class, here's a few suggestions:
- The article lead is weak, there is now enough information available for two full-sized paragraphs which give the reader all the relevant information, currently it takes an extremely distal view.
- Watch out for short paragraphs, try and merge them into larger ones, it's not a major problem with this article but it could be improved. For instance, in the second half of characters there's details about character classes and jobs, as well as guilds and players banding together, try to separate these two and leave more rounded paragrpahs.
- Under questing:"These are indicated by having yellow exclamation marks (!) above their heads, while yellow question marks represent quests ready to hand back and complete." Does the exclamation mark need to be there in brackets? The second part of the sentence is odd, a quest isn't a physical object so there's nothing to "hand back". Also it could use some clarification, does a question mark mean that the quest has been completed and that talking to the NPC again will result in a reward?
- Dungeons: is there anything remarkable in terms of geography or strategies available in different dungeons?
- Peer review - suggest taking it for a PR, this article could be a GA candidate but I'd suggest getting more opinions first.
Nice work on this, hope the above are of some use. Someoneanother 22:40, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- Many thanks for the assessment, it's much appreciated. I'll try to incorporate your changes and organise for a peer review or two, possibly aiming for GA or A class. I'm also considering appropriate illustrations in order to improve the article, but it's still early days. Gazimoff WriteRead 14:45, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
At the template
Is it really necessary to add this article to the games section at the template? -71.190.180.67 (talk) 00:49, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean here. Could you explain please? Many thanks, Gazimoff WriteRead 14:46, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- At the bottom of the page, at the world of warcraft template, this is listed at the games section. I think only games should be in that section not gameplay. -150.108.232.25 (talk) 02:23, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Combination
I think that this article and the main WoW article should be combined. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eoghan1234 (talk • contribs) 20:31, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- This article is a good spinout as it is used in the main WoW article, as well as the Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King expansions. If anything, now that we have this spinout article the section in World of Warcraft should be trimmed down further. Hope this helps, Gazimoff 13:47, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Wrath of the Lich King
There is a fair bit of stuff about the Burning Crusade (first expansion), and as such, i think some more info about the second ex-pac, wrath, should be added! I would do this myself, but a-levels are taking up so much time.. -.-

Meeting Stones
I removed a sourced passage on the function of meeting stones. The information was incorrect. They do not serve to help players find groups. There is an interface option that allows players to do that from anywhere for up to three different instances that can group them automatically or allow them to see who else is looking for a group for that instance. The purpose of meeting stones is to summon party members to that instance, since the game world is large and it is inconvenient for every player to run there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.129.148.191 (talk) 14:06, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
World map picture
I noticed that the picture of the world map is out of date, as it does not include Northrend. This could use being updated. 204.185.177.250 (talk) 19:19, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Grinding
This article doesn't talk about grinding, which is the entire gameplay experience when you get to endgame. That and hanging around at mount parties waiting for something entertaining to happen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.50.131.77 (talk) 05:37, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
- That would be a rather point of view thing to include, and as such would not really be worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a fansite, or a list of gripes had with the game. --Taelus (talk) 07:59, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
- Very POV, as it's only your experience within the game. "Endgame", meaning level capped? No one is required to grind anything at that point. Or endgame meaning 70-80? There are far more quests in the game required to fill that gap of experience. Personally, I was able to do 70-80 in three Northrend zones of quests, no grinding at all. - Wikipedia is an encyclopedia...ahhhh, that made me laugh out loud. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.78.205.178 (talk) 19:34, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
Character Creation Image
It's not really that large of a change, but it seems the Character Creation Screenshot on the Article is out of date and doesn't include the new races for Cataclysm. Just wondering if:
- It would be possible to update it.
- Make it a bit larger for people to actually see it.

P.S. Fairly new to Wikipedia, so any help would be appreciated :)
