Adina Cordifolia belongs to the Rubiaccae family of trees. It blossoms as a huge deciduous tree that could grow well over 20 metres high. The flowers are insignificant individually but a sight to see when they blossom together in balls with a circumference of 2 to 3 cm. They are usually yellow in colour often tinged with a shade of pink. Kadam is at its blossoming best during winter. The bark of the tree acts as an antiseptic. In India it is popularly known as Kadam or Kadamba. File:Adina.jpg
