Mundgod is located at 14°58′N 75°02′E / 14.97°N 75.03°E / 14.97; 75.03[1]. It has an average elevation of 567 metres (1860 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India censusTemplate:GR, Mundgod had a population of 16,171. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Mundgod has an average literacy rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 62%. In Mundgod, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
