You seem to be confused
Dear Pratyaya Ghosha
On the basis of your letter to me, you appear to be confused between your fictitious notion of what is "constructive", and the actual truth.
When I state that balut is a food that guarantees its eater a long residency in Hell, this is called the truth.
Whatever your subjective and wrong opinion of whether the truth is "constructive", it is nonetheless the truth.
Thank you Yours Sincerely Liam McMahon — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.73.130.151 (talk) 20:51, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia Library: New Account Coordinators Needed
Hi Books & Bytes recipients: The Wikipedia Library has been expanding rapidly and we need some help! We currently have 10 signups for free account access open and several more in the works... In order to help with those signups, distribute access codes, and manage accounts we'll need 2-3 more Account Coordinators.
It takes about an hour to get up and running and then only takes a couple hours per week, flexible depending upon your schedule and routine. VisualEditor global newsletter—June 2014
Did you know?
The VisualEditor team is mostly working to fix bugs, improve performance, reduce technical debt, and other infrastructure needs. You can find on Mediawiki.org weekly updates detailing recent work.
- They have moved the "Keyboard shortcuts" link out of the "Page options" menu, into the "Help" menu. Within dialog boxes, buttons are now more accessible (via the Tab key) from the keyboard.
- You can now see the target of the link when you click on it, without having to open the inspector.
- The team also expanded TemplateData: You can now add a parameter type "
date"
for dates and times in the ISO 8601 format, and "boolean"
for values which are true or false. Also, templates that redirect to other templates (like{{citeweb}}
→{{cite web}}
) now get the TemplateData of their target (bug 50964). You can test TemplateData by editing mw:Template:Sandbox/doc. - Category: and File: pages now display their contents correctly after saving an edit (bug 65349, bug 64239)
- They have also improved reference editing: You should no longer be able to add empty citations with VisualEditor (bug 64715), as with references. When you edit a reference, you can now empty it and click the "use an existing reference" button to replace it with another reference instead.
- It is now possible to edit inline images with VisualEditor. Remember that inline images cannot display captions, so existing captions get removed. Many other bugs related to images were also fixed.
- You can now add and edit
{{DISPLAYTITLE}}
and__DISAMBIG__
in the "Page options" menu, rounding out the full set of page options currently planned. - The tool to insert special characters is now wider and simpler.
Looking ahead
The VisualEditor team has posted a draft of their goals for the next fiscal year. You can read them and suggest changes on MediaWiki.org.
The team posts details about planned work on VisualEditor's roadmap. You will soon be able to drag-and-drop text as well as images. If you drag an image to a new place, it won't let you place it in the middle of a paragraph. All dialog boxes and windows will be simplified based on user testing and feedback. The VisualEditor team plans to add autofill features for citations. Your ideas about making referencing quick and easy are still wanted. Support for upright image sizes is being developed. The designers are also working on support for viewing and editing hidden HTML comments and adding rows and columns to tables.
Supporting your wiki
Please read VisualEditor/Citation tool for information on configuring the new citation template menu, labeled "⧼visualeditor-toolbar-cite-label⧽". This menu will not appear unless it has been configured on your wiki.
If you speak a language other than English, we need your help with translating the user guide. The guide is out of date or incomplete for many languages, and what's on your wiki may not be the most recent translation. Please contact me if you need help getting started with translation work on MediaWiki.org.
VisualEditor can be made available to most non-Wikipedia projects. If your community would like to test VisualEditor, please contact product manager James Forrester or file an enhancement request in Bugzilla.
Please share your questions, suggestions, or problems by posting a note at mw:VisualEditor/Feedback or by joining the office hours on Saturday, 19 July 2014 at 21:00 UTC (daytime for the Americas and Pacific Islands) or on Thursday, 14 August 2014 at 9:00 UTC (daytime for Europe, Middle East, Asia).

WikiCup 2014 June newsletter
After an extremely close race, Round 3 is over. 244 points secured a place in Round 4, which is comparable to previous years- 321 was required in 2013, while 243 points were needed in 2012. Pool C's Godot13 (submissions) was the round's highest scorer, mostly due to a 32 featured pictures, including both scans and photographs. Also from Pool C, Casliber (submissions) finished second overall, claiming three featured articles, including the high-importance Grus (constellation). Third place was Pool B's , whose contributions included featured articles Russian battleship Poltava (1894) and Russian battleship Peresvet. Pool C saw the highest number of participants advance, with six out of eight making it to the next round.
The round saw this year's first featured portal, with Sven Manguard (submissions) taking Portal:Literature to featured status. The round also saw the first good topic points, thanks to 12george1 (submissions) and the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season. This means that all content types have been claimed this year. Other contributions of note this round include a featured topic on Maya Angelou's autobiographies from Figureskatingfan (submissions), a good article on the noted Czech footballer Tomáš Rosický from Cloudz679 (submissions) and a now-featured video game screenshot, freely released due to the efforts of Sven Manguard (submissions).
The judges would like to remind participants to update submission pages promptly. This means that content can be checked, and allows those following the competition (including those participating) to keep track of scores effectively. This round has seen discussion about various aspects of the WikiCup's rules and procedures. Those interested in the competition can be assured that formal discussions about how next year's competition will work will be opened shortly, and all are welcome to voice their views then. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Big Brother (TV Show USA)
I believe my edit was a legitimate one. All of the results should be changed to "spoiler", in fact. I came to the page to find out when the season aired and was immediately taken to this small paragraph giving away the result. Now I can't enjoy watching it because of a spoiler like that. I also find it strange that someone from Bangladesh is "protecting" a wiki for an American TV show... Sweggy1098 (talk) 23:15, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Well @Sweggy1098: there's a disambiguation page available for Spoiler and I don't know which one you wanted to add. So it's better to undo the edit. At last I think the last line you wrote
I also find it strange that someone from Bangladesh is "protecting" a wiki for an American TV show...
isn't that much true. Today's world has become smaller so it isn't a true fact that only Americans watch American TV show. We can watch many TV shows including Big Brother here. There are some channels where these shows are aired. So I don't think the last word you said is just okay. Thanks. --Pratyya (Hello!) 13:13, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New Houghton past and present,
Hi, you have edited some of my comments on this page due to them in your words "not being constructive" let me put you in the picture i live in New Houghton, i am a parish councillor for Pleasley Parish and New Houghton fall's in that Parish, constructive well thats a matter of opinion but truthful they certainly are, and the more people who read the comments and see things as they are rather than airbrushing out the negative's the better, rose tinted spectacles will not change anything in this community, straight talk and honesty may get peoples interested in halting the decline, The Stanton Hotel is derelict, The former Church is falling into disrepair, and The Millenium Green is a total mess overgrown and unatractive in other words Ugly.
Regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Buckrabbit22 (talk • contribs) 14:21, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- (talk page stalker) No-one can claim to be anyone or anything on Wikipedia. I am also a Pleasley Parish councillor - no-one can prove so, or otherwise. What you are attempting is called soapboxing WP:SOAP and is not allowed. You need to address political and funding issues locally and at Bolsover District Council. I performed the majority of changes to your unsupported thoughts (unsupported by local news stories hard-published in a newspaper, for example - try to get a 'paper interested in an exposé). This is covered by WP:TRUTH - it has to be verifiable, by independent - non-connected - sources. You are connected with this. This is covered by Conflict of Interest and is not allowed - see WP:COI. Wikipedia strongly discourages those who are involved from writing about it - we do not expect you to know this as a new user, but now you have declared an interest you should refrain from futher contributions to this New Houghton article (this also applies to Pleasley). I was trying to be reasonable by leaving some of what you added - most editors would have removed everything you added. There is a convention on Wikipedia of trying to help new users. I sent a message to your talk page with the embedded warning removed on this occasion, but continuation of your comments may lead to a block. Please remember to sign your messages by typing four tildes (four of these ~ ).--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 19:54, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What I really wanted to do was to shine a light on General Motors' first attempt at just in time delivery to the assembly line. While that is essentially the business model today, it was not without fits and starts. Can I transfer the story to another spot that will allow me to link it to a GM process site?
