John Marshall High School (Los Angeles)

I undid your revert of user:Armendariz12345's edit to John Marshall High School (Los Angeles). I have no issue with your block, but his last edit to this article seemed to be returning the article to what the school's official website says here. Without another source to say the principal has changed, I think we have to leave it. Meters (talk) 18:33, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That was very remiss of me. Bad combination of rushing off to work and being lost in the forrest of IP and SPA edits. Thanks a lot for cleaning up the mess! Favonian (talk) 19:47, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The socks didn't help either. I was confused a bit trying to figure out what was real myself. Meters (talk) 20:31, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How are you?

Hi Favonian, on Wikipedia I just rollback some edits as well undo or reverting users' vandalism edits with the rollbackers does. So you're an administrator as this point and how are you doing on Wikipedia? --Allen Talk 04:24, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Favonian, what I did on Wikipedia is reverting edits that are messed up or vandalism on users' contributions. So I gladly have you help on Wikipedia as well. :) --Allen Talk 06:17, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Would you be interested in protecting "List of Turkic dynasties and countries", there appear to be about 4 IPs(most likely logged out users) and a "new user"(user:1sasdasd, most likely a sock) that continue to revert other editors after adding undue weight to the article. None of the IPs or "new users" have even attempted to use the talk page, surprise, surprise. --Kansas Bear (talk) 22:10, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

With 1sasdasd blocked for edit-warring, I'd say the situation is (temporarily) under control. I'll watch-list the article. Favonian (talk) 20:30, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. --Kansas Bear (talk) 20:54, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Soliciting comment...

Hi! Would you care to review my FA nomination for the article Of Human Feelings? The article is about a jazz album by Ornette Coleman, and the criteria is at WP:FACR. If not, feel free to ignore this message. Cheers! Dan56 (talk) 22:15, 28 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help understanding Wikipedia's rules

Hi Favonian, I am trying to start a new project (The Siduri Project) that my colleagues and I want to use to try and improve Wikipedia, using community created multimedia and programs. I'm not sure where is the right home for this project? Any guidance you could provide would be most appreciated.Siduri-Project (talk) 17:47, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for watching my back! Cheers! Geoff Who, me? 22:51, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My Edit of Digger T. Rock

In my edit of the Digger T. Rock page I changed the line that says "...presumably time-lapse view of his body decaying with only his helmet and skeleton remaining" to "...with only his helmet and clothes remaining". You reverted this change, although if you actually look at footage of the game or play the game then you can actually see that he doesn't decay until he's a skeleton - his entire corpse is gone. If you want a good example of the death animation then watch this video. --UltraTrollMan (talk) 16:58, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Would you consider protecting the Huns article? IP131.175.28.158 appears to be edit warring. --Kansas Bear (talk) 20:33, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What has the world come to, when the Huns need protecting? I've blocked the IP for edit-warring; so much more in Attila's spirit. Favonian (talk) 20:37, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, sir. --Kansas Bear (talk) 20:43, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not involved with Wikimania, and for that matter don't live in the UK, so I'm afraid I can't help you. Favonian (talk) 17:29, 4 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Are you a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic?

Hi Favonian, are you a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? I know you are good on Wikipedia and here, you can add the template "{{User MLP}}" to your user page if you are a fan of my favorite shows I watched it! :) --User:AllenHAcNguyen/Signature 02:37, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Hello Favonian. Thank you for blocking that block-evading IP. I noticed, though, that you didn't leave a block notice on their talkpage. I also noticed another suspicious account on the Skeleton article. One Tempuser6996. The name is pretty telling, I think, as it basically screams "block evasion" (and even if not actually a sock of the troll, the username+sole edit strongly suggest they're NOTHERE at the very least, I'd say). Mind taking a look and see if you agree (and if so, block them)? AddWittyNameHere (talk) 19:49, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't usually leave block notices with obvious block evaders. In this case, his antics at the talk page rather illustrated the futility of polite gestures. I'll keep an eye on the other person to see, just how "temp" the account is. Favonian (talk) 19:52, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, okay. I mainly noticed because I was in the progress of reverting their chance to their talkpage (and got edit-conflicted by you) around the same time you blocked the IP and only noticed because I went to check their contributions to see if they had made any non-reverted edits, then realized they were blocked but didn't see a notice. Wouldn't have pestered you about it if not for the suspicious user. Good to know someone else is also keeping an eye on the account. AddWittyNameHere (talk) 20:01, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Infiniti

Hello. I know you'll see this in your notifications, but I believe that the same person who created User:Infiniticardealership, has now created User:Carinfiniti. He adds the same link in the external links section and is reverting. Thanks, CorkythehornetfanTalk 22:49, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Looks like it has been well taken care of by now. I thought there was something familiar about the ceiling fan stuff, and indeed it was an trusty old customer returning. Favonian (talk) 05:56, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wettenberg and Francesco St Jerome

Asking as an interested observer, can I ask if you have any evidence of "Markus ... von Wettenberg" claiming to be the 14th Marquis of Wettenberg being a hoax? cf. your edits to Francesco St Jerome and Wettenberg. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.125.172.14 (talk) 18:55, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting that this question should come from an IP address, geo-locating to the same area as the one who produced this invaluable contribution. Just for the record, there are no reliable sources attesting the existence of a person of that ludicrous name possessing that non-existing title. Favonian (talk) 19:04, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, I suspect the owner of the IP address in question is currently involved in other fraudulent, art-related activity. I've just found Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Visual_arts#St._Jerome_hoax.3F re: your discussion. FYI see http://www.getreading.co.uk/news/local-news/reading-gallery-bid-halted-after-7406549 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.125.172.14 (talk) 19:11, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I'll be darned – though not surprised! That's incredibly interesting. Will you be the bringer of the happy news to the Visual Arts project, or should I? By the way, I apologize that my first reply was a bit snippy and lacking in good faith; this website does tend to nurture cynicism. Favonian (talk) 19:17, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Quite alright - I'm anonymous for good reasons, but I appreciate your thoroughness! I'd also appreciate your holding off sharing the info with others for now as they might connect the dots that I have and scoop me. Once I've finished assembling a "dossier" I'll share what may come of it and you can have the honour of passing it to the Visual Arts project. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.125.172.14 (talk) 19:33, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I look forward to seeing how this plays out in Reading, and possibly elsewhere. :) Favonian (talk) 19:39, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
So it turns out someone with a lot more authority than me has doubts about his The Scream: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/art/10962660/Did-a-Labour-council-and-the-BBC-fall-for-one-of-the-worlds-great-art-hoaxes.html - although that puts this edit into the context I suspected it would: http://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=The_Scream&diff=prev&oldid=495033167 . Obviously all of this casts doubt on the Francesco St Jerome but I've no evidence on that front. Feel free to add a comment to Visual Arts :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.125.172.14 (talk) 17:44, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Too bad you didn't get to keep that story! I'll notify the VA crowd later tonight, and probably initiate an AfD unless there's opposition to the idea. Thanks a lot for the hint! Favonian (talk) 18:25, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you deleted this article; I'm wondering if it should be salted, as it has been recreated many times. 331dot (talk) 21:27, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Taking care of vandals

Hi Favonian, it's Allen. Hope you're having a good time on Wikipedia as well you're an administrator but I don't want to be an administrator here on English Wikipedia. I remind that you watch out vandals on Wikipedia then I'm okay with the articles. No worries, I take care of the vandals instead of I'm a rollbacker to undid them. --Allen talk 05:59, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for taking care of the vandals as well I (or others) undid revision of the vandal edit on this article seen here was reverted. No worries, I have time to undo revision if he vandalizes the article again. --Allen talk 18:52, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

He/she is repeatedly disruptive editing on 808s & Heartbreak with multiple IPs. Can you please block him/her? 183.171.160.47 (talk) 11:18, 25 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Blocking an IP-jumper is pointless, so I've semi-protected the article. Favonian (talk) 11:26, 25 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
