Edwin Escobar (born April 22, 1992) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher in the minor league baseball organization of the Boston Red Sox.

Career

The Texas Rangers signed Escobar as an international free agent.[1] He was traded to the San Francisco Giants for Ben Snyder in 2010. He was traded to the Boston Red Sox in a deal for Jake Peavy on July 26, 2014.[2]

The Giants added Escobar to their 40-man roster after the 2012 season.[3] He started the 2014 season with the Fresno Grizzlies.[4][5]

Escobar was traded to the Boston Red Sox, along with Heath Hembree, for Jake Peavy on July 26, 2014.[6]
