KSLG is a commercial alternative rock and indie music radio station in Hydesville, California, broadcasting to the Eureka, California, area on 94.1 FM. KXGO is branded as K-Slug, which refers to the banana slugs native to the region. Its parent company is Lost Coast Communications with sister stations KHUM and KWPT.[1]
History
KSLG-FM launched on May 1, 2001, three years after Lost Coast Communications secured the license from the FCC. Lost Coast Communications paid another radio operator, Eureka Broadcasting, US$70,000 to withdraw a bid for the 94.1 Frequency, then had to secure investors to begin operating.[2]
The station uses their website, Facebook and Twitter as tools to connect with listeners in the Humboldt County area. They also actively use the airwaves and social networks for giveaways and contests.[citation needed]
On July 1, 2014, KSLG-FM swapped call signs with sister station KXGO.

Myles Cochrane hosts from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. weekdays, with a top-three song countdown every weekday at noon and 5 p.m. On weekends he hosts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. He has been with the station since early 2009.
Sherae O'Shaughnessy is on from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m on weekends.
Nikki Leskinen hosts 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. weekends.
Additional fill-in personalities include Sabina Gallier and Kim Hodges.
Former hosts:
Captain Chris P was the first evening host for KSLG. He was perhaps best known for speaking in gibberish.[citation needed]
Makeisha followed Captain Chris P into the night host position. She also hosted the station's first metal feature, "Get Your Rocks Off."
Mitch Hinman took over as the evening host, following Makeisha.
Ashley Ramone covered nights, post-Mitch Hinman and had a feature called "4 Degrees Of Tool" to link the rock band Tool to other artists.
Plastic Jackson hosted the evening show "Happy Endings."
Jen Savage hosted middays and from Fall 2009 to Fall 2012 she hosted weekend afternoons.
Monica Topping hosted weekend middays and the Slug Festivities Guide.
Dr. Syd Reagan III hosted afternoons until November 2012.
John Matthews manned the morning slot until July 2013.
