Atlanta duopoly?

I know that UPN has an O&O in Atlanta, Georgia (WUPA). However, as far as I know, that station did not become a part of a duopoly as a result of the CBS-Viacom merger, as CBS/Viacom did not (and does not) own any other TV stations there -- and even if it did at this moment, it still wasn't a result of the merger. I reverted a first addition of this, but should it be removed again? --WCQuidditch 20:59, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct, sir... Meredith owns the CBS station here. And while there are plenty of rumors of CBS buying WGCL, it hasn't happened. So WUPA remains the only Atlanta television property that Viacom owns (though Infinity does own three radio stations in town). --Mhking 02:22, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Future in doubt

UPN's future is no longer in doubt. It was confirmed a few months ago that it will merge with the WB. The 'Future in Doubt' article either needs to be re-written or deleted.--J3wishVulcan 22:28, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. With its future no longer in doubt, something better should replace it. Unfortunately, I don't know of a better title for that section. --WCQuidditch 23:00, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I once replaced it with an article called 'Merdure', but someone(presumably the author of 'Future in Doubt) promptly reverted back to his article within a day. --J3wishVulcan 21:30, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that UPN is only on parts of the day. After 9 PM it changes.

Well, I renamed a good amount of the sections. Hope everyone agrees with the changes I made (and that they don't get reverted the same way as J3wishVulcan's changes did). -Whomp 02:07, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The unattributed "Under Paid Negro" term doesn't need to be here; it is unencyclopedic, plus unattributed. --Mhking 03:14, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Network Shut Down

The article for The CW has a section about UPN and The WB shutting down. Should the UPN page have this as well? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by StephenK (talkcontribs) 22:12, June 19, 2006 (UTC).

The intro mentions that UPN will close when CW debuts. Unless you meant something else, I think it's there already. --WCQuidditch 22:36, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was actually referring to the actual shut down process of the network (e.g.: several stations have begun to preemt programming), go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_cw#Repercussions to see what I mean. (Sorry about the confusion)

Stations to Not Carry UPN's Final 13 Days

The stations joining My Network TV will begin showing MNTV programming September 5. However, UPN doesn't shut down until September 17. How will the stations handle this? Will they carry UPN programming in a different time block, or just drop the affiliation all together? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.104.224.115 (talkcontribs)
