Major Restructuring is required in this page,share your suggestions

This page should be about s/w companies either based in or having development center in India.But this article has become more of City based s/w companies.In my opinion there should be table as following.

Software Company Location
ABC Delhi,Bangalore
XYZ Kolkata
EFG Mysore

This page should not be deleted. The page is informative but can be improved by categorizing companies by Indian base and foreign base. The above table arrangement is also good.

Bold overhaul

Seeing as this page is in need of some major revisions, I'm going to be very bold here, and start by removing any companies not based in India. My reasoning is that this article can only meet encyclopedic standards if it discusses matters relevant to those reading it: The fact that IBM has an office in Mumbai, or that HP runs some of its development in Bangalore, is not particularly relevant for article inclusion. There are, clearly, a massive number of tech companies operating in India, so this list must maintain fairly high standards for what it includes. Once I'm done with general cleanup, I'll also be asking an admin to put up an editnotice asking that users not add companies which do not already have articles, or which do not operate primarily in India.

I'm aware that I'm being rather dictatorial about this, to the point of risking article ownership accusations. If other editors see this and disagree, obviously I'm not trying to circumvent consensus, but I feel there's a good chance not many other editors have this page watchlisted (my userpage has more watchers than this article does, and that's really not saying much). In general, I'm about done with trying to police this article (I say as I just cleaned out a bunch of redlinks and unlinked companies). I'm very close to afd'ing it as unmanageable and being too diffuse in purpose. If it really was what you hoped in your overhaul (Indian companies only) then there would be some merit, but otherwise its just a magnet for spammers and of dubious informational purpose. Requests in the introduction are not followed by editors

These two requests are routinely ignored:

  • Companies are listed alphabetically
  • Foreign companies operating in India are not listed

Not done: Per the lead section of this article, "Certain companies have main offices in more than one city, in which case they are listed under each, but minor offices and resources are not listed." The company's headquarters is located in Mumbai, and the page you linked to does not indicate the importance of any offices other than the headquarters.
