Citation

  • Editors should always provide original citation information, in addition to linking a Questia article, per WP:V and WP:SAYWHEREYOUGOTIT
  • Editors should not provide bare links to non-free Questia pages
  • Editors should note "(subscription required)" in the citation, where appropriate

  • "National implementation committee approves funds for Swami Vivekananda values' education project". US Fed News Service, Including US State News. September 2010. Retrieved 14 April 2012 – via Questia. {{cite web}}: Unknown parameter |subscription= ignored (|url-access= suggested) (help)

If citing a book, optionally adding the ISBN of the cited book (found inside the Questia book, on its copyright page) increases both accessibility and verifiability for those without Questia access, who may then use the automatically-generated ISBN hyperlink. ISBNs can be included in many citation templates (including cite web), by means of the |isbn= parameter. Alternatively, as in the example below, immediately after (outside) the citation and Questia reference templates, simply type the acronym ISBN (with no punctuation) followed by one space and then the 13-digit (preferred) or 10-digit ISBN. 9. Jeremy112233 (talk · contribs). English Wikipedia editor since January 2012 with nearly 18,000 edits. Most of my attention is focused on content generation. All of my reference use full citation information, which helps users to verify the information I add to the encyclopedia even if they do not have access to the pay-site's articles. Most of my articles require a large amount of research as they deal with contemporary issues where the sources I need are often behind paywalls rather than available freely on Google's reference searches like Scholar or News. That said, they just changed the Google News search so the old Archive function is no longer available, providing even less good sources to create articles. My articles are largely on law, medical, or entertainment related people or firms, and Highbeam would make my articles better researched, and allow me to create articles on subjects I may otherwise not be able to. I do not currently have ready access to Questia through either a university or a library; I did a few years ago and found it extremely helpful.Jeremy112233 (talk) 16:49, 24 January 2014 (UTC) Done[reply]

  39. Neonorange (talk · contribs) I've been an active user over the past year, and have begun to add content to articles in three areas: American novelists, the American Civil Rights Movement, and the American anti-war movement. I have paid access to The New York Times, The Economist, and Foreign Affairs. Better access to research materials would greatly strengthen my ability to contribute well cited Wikipedia content. I worked as a journalist and documentarist for many years. I no longer have access to a broad range of research tools. Though I live in a major metropolitan area, my local library is very small, and I have no access to academic libraries. I've worked in more than 35 US states and more than 35 countries and territories. With proper research material, through Questia, I can make use of my personal experiences to locate WP:RS to back up contributions to Wikipedia. - Neonorange (talk) 15:38, 30 April 2014 (UTC)  Done[reply]

When I come across something that is confusing or contradictory, I consult other editors with expertise in that area, but I would like to be able to check the literature myself. 69. Trust Is All You Need (talk · contribs) - I'm active on articles on communism, the institutionalisation of power, one-party systems and ideologies in general. Questia would give me access to sources to improve my work even further; for instance, i've been writing on the Workers' Party of Korea and the Juche articles recently, but there are few sources out there who write about the topic. If I got access to Questia I could for instance access the article "North Korea: The Domain of the Juche Doctrine" or "North Korea's Race Problem: What I Learned in Eight Years Reading Propaganda from Inside the Hermit Kingdom" (I want to create an article entitled Racism in North Korea) ... Or, I'm currently writing the Ideology of the Communist Party of China, and I need access to sources (but most sources on Chinese ideology today comes from journals), access to Questia would make my work much easier - for instance, I'd love to read (among many others) the "The Three Represents Campaign: Reform the Party or Indoctrinate the Capitalists?" (It will be useful to the article, 100 percent sure)... I've made over 47,000 edits (over 31,000 main page edits) on Wikipedia, created 293 articles and I've been active since 2009. --TIAYN (talk) 07:17, 3 May 2014 (UTC) -  Not done Email not enabled.[reply]

The Questia resources are likely to be helpful in improving the coverage of these subjects (which is still poor). --Ghirla-трёп- 06:14, 27 June 2014 (UTC)  Done[reply]
  139. Paulscrawl (talk · contribs), active since 2006 with creation of AI@50 and, even with a modest 1200+ edits, was granted Reviewer status during the early days of Deepwater Horizon oil spill and a few related articles I created and edited. Always looking for sources that won't expire due to link rot, so books are preferred sources. Looking to get back into improving Wikipedia's coverage of cultural history, for which Questia's humanities and social sciences resources are ideal. I've used Questia before and will make my ability to access Questia known to other editors who may want a factoid cited. Thanks! Paulscrawl (talk) 06:42, 1 July 2014 (UTC)  Done[reply]

  150. Jacqke (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) Such a common occurrence: I am pursuing a very relevant reference for an article online only to find it is JSTOR or Questia and I cannot read the reference. I write biographies and also musical history oriented articles. The article Mandore (instrument) is an example. An academic research database would help me by allowing me access to better quality references.Jacqke (talk) 19:56, 31 July 2014 (UTC)  Done[reply]
