Rakesh Pandit is an Indian playback singer. He sang for hit movies like Omkara, Guzaarish.[1][2] He sang over 100 Bollywood songs.

Personal life

Rakesh Pandit was born on 8th September, 1967 in Borivali,Mumbai to a great classical artiste Shri. Shambhu Pandit (Well renowned Qawwali Duo in Music Industry as "ShankerShambhu"). He began his singing career at the age of three, when he joined his father Shri Shambhuji. In his teenage years(12 years), he successfully gave live performances on stageand began his Bollywood singing career at a very early age of 22. He learnt the nuinaces of music from his dad and uncle Shri.Shanker Pandit. His brother, Deepak Pandit is also a composer/violinist. [3]

Career

Rakesh Pandit debuted in 1994 when he rendered the high-pitched alaaps and the sargam for Tu cheez badi hai mast mast from Mohra.

He won recognised after his song in Maqbool and Omkara. His songs Tum jo aaye zindagi mein and Pee loon in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai were big hits.

He sings genres like classical and folk to bhajan, ghazal, qawwali and Sufiana songs.
