Emmanuel Macron (born December 21, 1977 in Amiens) is a French senior official, politician and former investment banker.[1] Unofficially known as Le loup de bercy (The wolf of Bercy) in government circles due to his meteoric rise to the top of the government. The nickname is a reference to the movie The wolf of Wall Street.[2]

On 26 August 2014 he was appointed as the Minister of Economy, Industrial Renewal and Information Technology in the Manuel Valls government.[3]
