  • Guard rail, a system designed to keep people or vehicles from (in most cases unintentionally) straying into dangerous or off-limits areas.
  • Guard rail (or guardrail) is another term used in North America to refer to traffic barriers that are installed on road sides or medians (central reservations) for automobile safety
