Title
The article is about the University's library system so why not name the page that? ALTON .ıl 23:41, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
first book
The library's first acquisition was Survey of Wyoming and Idaho by Dr. Ferdinand Vandeveer Hayden[2] -- the citation is to the book its self -- the book says that it was the first book purchased??? Also, when did it become the UCLA library and not the normal school library? They really moved the collection when the moved the campus? What did LA city college keep as thier library when they got that old normal school campus? What is the source of all this info? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.107.130.198 (talk) 04:00, August 28, 2007 (UTC)

COI Disclaimer
I just added a link to publicly available digitized materials (lots of photographs, but other documents as well) from the UCLA Library's Digital Collections (mostly Special Collections materials) . It's a rich resource that I think others will find meaningful and useful, but I'm mentioning it here because I'm a librarian at UCLA. I had nothing to do with the creation of the project, but I still want to make sure that it's generally agreed by page editors that this doesn't represent a conflict of interest. I made a minor edit to the page to update the number of volumes held by the UCLA Library. I am a librarian at UCLA, but I believe this is a factual correction and not a conflict of interest. Here is a citation that notes the nine million statistic: http://books.google.com/books?id=EJRFAwAAQBAJ&pg=PA29&lpg=PA29&dq=how+many+volumes+are+held+in+ucla+library&source=bl&ots=DhUJgOvCMj&sig=7Zj4lJQbW0ZWwjag_cBMixm6_hk&hl=en&sa=X&ei=i0IRVOufN-OjigKEwYC4Bg&ved=0CFEQ6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=how%20many%20volumes%20are%20held%20in%20ucla%20library&f=false. --Emcaulay (talk) 06:40, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
