Mamunul Islam Mamun (born 12 December 1988) is a Bangladeshi international footballer who plays as a midfielder for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and the Bangladesh national football team. He is also captain of the Bangladesh national team.

Indian Super League

Mamunul is going to play in the first season of Indian Super League for Atlético de Kolkata, going to the club for 3 months loan from Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club.[1] This will make him the first Bangladeshi player in the League. He impressed Indian football fans in 2014 IFA Shield by taking Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club on of three foreign clubs participating in the tournament to the finals. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club received multipe offers for his transfer from Indian clubs. Additionally one of the owners of the club former Indian cricketer Saurav Ganguly, wanted a Bengali player in his team . Mamunul is going to play as a midfielder and a forward.
