Energy co-founded by Clyde Carson from The Team. Also a song by The Team.

Considering they named their group the Dismasters, it’s suprising that Raven T & Lord Mike Ski’s album contained only one diss record. While they claimed a spot in rap history with the timeless "Small Time Hustler", and to a lesser extent with "Black and Proud", their most entertaining moment in the booth was “Act Like You Know”.

Delivered in their typical Shout Rap style, the first couple of verses include a few vague stabs at the competition: "Run-DMC can’t do me nothing, I wish that KRS would say something / PE I like what you’re doing, Rakim drops science/ yeah, that’s kool and the gang, but don’t ever suppose you could beat me!". Luckily, the final verse makes it all worthwhile, as Kool DJ Red Alert receives a verbal beatdown for "being the only DJ in New York who wouldn’t play our record". It starts off with: "Red Alert and the Jungle Brothers, go on safaris and play with each other / out in the jungle - no womens in sight, one of them plays the girl for the night!" This is all funny shit, but the crediblity of the whole attack is pretty suspect when you take a look at the Dismaster’s

The Propmaster was no stranger to diss records himself, as he was the first to play BDP’s "South Bronx", which itself was made in retaliation to Red Alert’s radio rival Mr. Magic’s reaction when Scott and KRS asked him to play one of their pre-Criminal Minded 12"s. The Juice Crew fired back at Red with Craig G’s “Duck Alert” from Marley Marl’s In Control, Volume 1 LP, which is pretty tame compared to "Act Like You Know" but still comes off due to well-placed Star Trek soundbites. Not to be outdone, Red included several tracks dedicated to himself on his Next Plateau compilations - MC Mitch-Ski’s "Red Alert Is A Great Man", Total Control’s "DJ Red Alert" and Bizzy Boys with DJ Supreme Nyborn’s "Kool DJ Red Alert" all attested to his superiority in the rap radio wars.

Dismasters - Act Like You Know (And Then Some, Sure Delight, 1989)

Catch-Flame! was recorded at London’s Alexandra Palace and is Paul Weller’s third solo live album. Recorded on 5th December – the last date of Weller’s 2005 UK tour – it features live versions of songs spanning his entire career, including those of The Jam and The Style Council.

The album has attracted faint rumblings of criticism from fans due to the slight deviation from the original setlist of the concert. Certain songs have been omitted from the CD: Mermaids, Amongst Butterflies, Early Morning Rain, Here’s The Good News, and We All Need Love, a duet with The Charlatans’ Tim Burgess. Nevertheless, it is a fine reflection of Paul Weller’s career and encapsulates the passion and energy that still emanates from his concerts, and proves to critics that he still bounds on stage with the same élan and ferventness that he did when he was a young man with The Jam.

Catch-Flame! entered the UK chart at #17 on 18th June 2006.

Pirate Party USA

The USA Pirate Party supports the notion that the government should encourage, rather than smother, creativity and freedom. They encourage the release of material to the public domain, and aim to reform US copyright laws.

Quote: "Copyrights are now stretching into the hundreds of years, and fair use is under constant attack by attorneys who exploit the vagueness of the law. Creativity has come to a standstill in this country for those who wish to work within, and benefit from, the confines of the law. Whereas 50 years ago there was no great uproar at creative "pirating" of works without the permission of the original artist (Mickey Mouse was made as a parody, but Disney prosecutes all similar parodies of their Mickey Mouse symbol), similar legitimate creative derivative works are now smothered by the excessive terms, restrictions and punishments of our copyright system."

Blog skinning is a term for making a template for weblogs, or blogs. The term half-originated from the terms blog and skin which is the standard term for the blog look and the other half originated from BlogSkins.com, which is a website where Blogskinners submit their designs for others to download and use. It can also be called skinning if it is not intended for the BlogSkins website, since there are other similar websites. In fact, if you search Google, you get about 1,190,000 results in an average 0.15 seconds. Many people around the world state their hobby as blog skinning.

Soil Transmitted Helminths

Soil Transmitted Helminths

Helminth” is a technical word for a worm. Soil-transmitted helminths (STHs) are also known in many places simply as common intestinal worms.

Causative agents

In terms of public health, three species are important,

Transmission

A person infected with STH has parasite eggs in their faeces.

In areas where there is no latrine system, the soil (and water) around the village or community becomes contaminated with faeces containing worm eggs.

In the soil, the eggs mature – a process that takes between 2 and 4 weeks, depending on the type of worm:

about 2 weeks for roundworms and hookworms; about 3 weeks for whipworms. The STHs can then infect humans in the following ways.

The eggs are ingested:

The eggs stick to vegetables grown in the area. If the vegetables are not carefully cooked, washed or peeled, the eggs are ingested and infect the person. The eggs are ingested from water sources which have become contaminated. Young children who play on the ground and often put their hands in their mouths without washing them, ingest the eggs and become infected. The larvae penetrate the skin:

For hookworms, the eggs also hatch into larvae which rest in the soil. If a person walks on the contaminated soil, the larvae can penetrate the skin, usually between the toes. There is no direct person-to-person transmission or infection from fresh faeces because eggs passed in faeces need about 3 weeks in the soil before they become infective.

Symptoms of infection and Impact on health:

The symptoms of STH infections are nonspecific and only become evident when the infection is particularly severe.

The nonspecific symptoms include nausea, tiredness, abdominal pain and loss of appetite.

STHs cause morbidity through various different mechanisms; three of particular significance are listed below.

Anaemia. Hookworms live in the intestine. They attach and re-attach themselves to the intestine wall every few hours as they feed on blood from the cut vessels and mucosal tissues. This blood loss contributes to anaemia, especially in countries where the dietary intake of iron is already marginal and malaria is widespread.
Vitamin A deficiency. Vitamin A deficiency. STHs need vitamin A to live. In many countries, a person's vitamin A-intake is already marginal and in these situations, STH infections can compete for the limited amount of vitamin A which is absorbed.
Loss of appetite. One of the most noticeable changes after a child has been dewormed is that his/her appetite returns.

The impact of STH infections on an infected person’s life can be significant. Some examples are listed below.

Restricted growth. Loss of appetite, increased levels of vitamin A deficiency and higher anaemia levels all interfere with a child's ability to grow healthily and to his or her full potential. Moreover, there is evidence to suggest that a child with heavy worm infections is less resistant to other infections. Altogether, this means a child infected with STHs will be sickly and, if untreated, will grow up to be an unhealthy adult.
Need for surgery. When the number of worms in the body becomes extremely high, they build up in the child's intestines, stopping the normal flow of blood and eventually blocking the intestine entirely. The only solution in this situation is surgical intervention and in many cases, this is not possible in remote areas and the child can die.
Reduced ability to learn. Worm-infected children are less able to concentrate or memorize information. They score less well in school tests and therefore their only chance to gain a few years of schooling in their lives is compromised

St. Louis Rapper Atm

ATM, a.k.a. Timothy Moore, is from St. Louis, Missouri . While born into the 80's rap genre, his childhood proved as the start of his music career. His desire to entertain was present to his family and through school, where he joined music and acting classes to show his range of talent. Music is in ATM's blood, his great uncle Bennie Smith was a legendary Blues singer who worked with Ike Turner and B.B. King. The progression into music was only natural for this young actor who became a full time rapper 8 years ago.

In 1998, upon entering high school, he formed a group Young High Rollaz. In 2002 they finally recorded a self-titled CD, which was critically acclaimed in the streets. Unfortunately, no major labels were interested in signing them at the time, so the independent spirit prevailed. The group promoted themselves vigorously, passing their CD on to every DJ, promoter, and other music professional they could meet. They also sold over 7000 copies internationally with no major promotion.

ATM is currently in Frankfurt , Germany , and has released a new independent solo CD titled "Misery's Misfit."

67.125.132.70 12:29, 7 July 2006 (UTC) Constanze Mozart (née Constanze Weber) (Zell im Wiesenthal, Germany 1763 – 1842 Salzburg), a first cousin of the composer Carl Maria von Weber, was the wife of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.[reply]

Mozart and Constanze Weber met in 1777 in Mannheim. However, Mozart was at first more interested in her sister, Aloysia. When Mozart met the family again in Vienna in 1781, Aloysia had already married. Mozart lived with the Weber family for a time, though he left due to rumours about their relationship.

Mozart and Weber married on August 4, 1782. They had six children in about 9 years:

Raimund Leopold Mozart (1783) Karl Thomas Mozart (1784) Johann Leopold Mozart (1786) Theresia Mozart (1787) Anna Mozart (1789) Franz Xaver Wolfgang Mozart (1791). Only two of the children, Karl Thomas and Franz Xaver Wolfgang, survived past childhood. As a result of her frequent pregnancies, Constanze is said to have been weak and often confined to her bed.

After Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's death in 1791, Constanze had difficulties managing to survive with her two children. Eventually she sold the remaining autographs of Mozart's work (including the incomplete Requiem) in 1800, to the publisher Johann Anton André.

An 1840 daguerrotype of Constanze discovered in 2006In 1809, Constanze married Georg Nikolaus von Nissen, a Danish diplomat and writer. From 1810 - 1820 they lived in Copenhagen, and subsequently travelled through Europe, especially Germany and Italy. They settled in Salzburg in 1824. Both worked on a biography of Mozart; Constanze eventually published it in 1828, two years after her second husband's death.

In 2006, the German Internet newspaper Spiegel Online announced that a daguerreotype of Constanze has been discovered in Altötting, Germany. It shows the 78 year old widow in October 1840 in Altötting, visiting the family of the composer Max Keller on occasion of Mr Keller's 80th birthday. The picture is arguably one of the earliest examples of photography in Bavaria.

Ovingdean is a small formerly agricultural village which was absorbed into the borough of Brighton, East Sussex, UK, in 1928, and now forms part of the city of Brighton and Hove. It has expanded through the growth of residential streets on its eastern and southern sides, and now has a population of about 1200. Some of the current housing replaces earlier shacks of the type once found in Woodingdean and Peacehaven, built after the Great War. It almost abuts Rottingdean to the south-east and Woodingdean to the north-east, but still has open downland on its other sides, on which may be found a golf course and Brighton racecourse as well as some residual farmland.

The historic village is a conservation area. Its focus is the eleventh-century church of St Wulfran, a dedication found in only two other places in England (Grantham and Dorrington, both in Lincolnshire). Many homes in this area are converted farm buildings, and the most prominent houses are Ovingdean Grange and Ovingdean Hall. The Grange is the subject of legend, having reputedly been visited by Charles II (with fetal consequences) during his escape from England in 1651, but this story is an invention of the once well-known novelist W. Harrison Ainsworth. The Hall is a gentry farmhouse which now serves as a school for the hearing-impaired.

Buried in the churchyard, or having a monument there, are the inventor Magnus Volk, the stained-glass artist Charles Kempe, the pioneer female medical student Sophia Jex-Blake and the distinguished lawyer Helena Normanton, one of the first female barristers and QCs.

The village is distinguished by having a single shop (a sub-post-office) and no pub.

Just outside the historic boundary of Ovingdean, and actually in historic Rottingdean, is Ian Fraser House, better known as St Dunstan's, a famous residential and rehabilitation centre for blind ex-servicemen. It is at the moment of writing (July 2006) the home of Britain's oldest living man at 110, Henry Allingham, the last surviving founder-member of the RAF.

The voice of the adolescent male and mature male is seperated into three natural parts: Chest voice, head voice and falsetto. Also, by isolating parts of the vocal chords, fry tones can be produced. It is not done within the natural confines of the voice, but by closing the throat and forcing air through the vocal chords. Individuals can be taught to do this correctly. However, if not done properly, it can have many negative effects including polyps and nodes. Many voice teachers, especially those who teach on the foundation of resonance usually do not like this technique. Not only is it difficult to do it properly with the right support, however. It implies that the voice is segmented, which contradicts the idea of having voice a well connected to the breath and consistent from top to bottom. In our society, fry tones can most commonly be heard by rock stars and other pop artists to achieve a lower and/or desired effect. Most typically this is done by heavy metal stars such as Metallica and Black Sabbath for a dark (stereotypically satanic) sound. One group most famous for correctly using this style of vocal isolation is the monks of Tibet. Because this is done off the normal voice, this fry tone can be accompanied with the normal voice and the falsetto voice to create three voices at once. This takes many years of training under the supervision of qualified individuals.

The Bisbee Kings are semi-pro baseball team playing in the Border Baseball Series. As of July 7, the team had compiled a record of 13-2. The Kings play their home games at the Warren Ballpark in Bisbee, Arizona, however a doubleheader against the Borderland Cowboys was played in Copper King Stadium in Douglas, Arizona as part of Douglas's fourth of July festival. The team is owned byBob Lipp, who also serves as the general manager. Butch Hammett is the field manager of the kings, and also managed the Bisbee-Douglas Copper Kings team in 2003.

The Kings opened their season in Naco, Sonora, against the Naco Aguilas(Eagles), there was some tension that there would be border issues between the two teams, but none surfaced. The game was held as a charitable event to raise for Naco's little league team to participate in the Sonora State Tournament.

The Kings home opener was a double-header against the Aguilas. The Kings were not originally scheduled to play the Aguilas, but the scheduled team, the San Luis Banditos, were unable to make the game because they were participating in a tournament in Mexicala and advanced beyond the point that they thought they would. The kings won the games 8-6 and 8-0 to advance their record to 3-0.

The Kings had been scheduled to play Naco again the next weekend, but because they didn't want to play each four times in a row, Bob Lipp arranged for a three game set against the Borderland Cowboys in El Paso, and one game in Deming, New Mexico. However a Deming city ordinance against charging admission to any event in a city park could not be worked around, and the Cowboys agreed to come to Bisbee to play a three game set. However, the Cowboys decided they didn't have the depth for a three game series, and Lipp arranged for a friday night game against the Nogales Tigers. The kings beat the tigers 6-4, then defeated the cowboys 10-0, and 10-3.

On June 16, 17, and 18, the Kings almost got their schedule right. They defeated the Cananea Mineros 15-2 at home, then beat them 12-0 in Cananea. However, the sunday game against the Nogales Tigers was cancelled. The Kings record was 8-0.

On June 23, the Kings played against the Amarillo Ace and won 6-2. After the game Butch Hammett said, "That was probably the best team we have played so far." The Ace proved that the next day handing the Kings their first loss 6-3 in the second of a doubleheader. The Kings won the first game 7-6 in walkoff fashion. In the second game, the Ace had a 6-3 lead when the sprinklers went on at Warren Ballpark, ended the game because know one had a key to the sprinkler shed. The next day, the Kings were playing the Arizona Diamondjaxx in Chandler. The game was tied at 1 when the Kings 3rd baseman Manny Davila broke his leg sliding into second base. The game was called due to unsafe playing conditions.

The Kings beat the El Paso(formerly Borderland) Cowboys 6-0 and 10-4 in Douglas as part of the fourth of July festival. The Kings lost their second game of the season the next day to the Tucson Stars in Bisbee, 6-3. That following Tuesday, the Kings were scheduled to play the Casa Grande Cotton Kings in Bisbee. In the bottom of first inning, the rain started to fall and was soon coming down in torrents. The dugouts, locker rooms, and offices were soon all flooded. The only open entrance was on the first base side of the stadium, and water was coming through a foot deep. Eventually they called 911 and police came and opened the 3rd base gate. The game was rained out by an Arizona Monsoon.

Give4Strips

Give4Strips was formed in April 2005 by a group of Sunderland AFC supporters with the idea of providing underprivileged children across Africa with brand new football shirts from the UK.

They raise money purely from donations and use this money to buy sets of shirts for a full team. Initially the focus was on Sunderland AFC football shirts, given the origin of the founder members, but over time this has been extended to cater for every UK football team.

Their aim is to give hope and a sense of belonging to children that have precious little in their lives. The organisation works with existing charties such as EMIMA (who educate children about HIV/AIDS awareness through sport) and The Loveshack (A home for abandoned children in Kenya)

To date Give4Strips have donated many shirts in Tanzania, Kenya and Malawi and have set up an annual football tournament in Dar Es Salaam where dozen of teams from surrounding areas gather.

Wanstead Park is located in the London Borough of Redbridge. It is surrounded by the Aldersbrook Estate and City of London Cemetery to the south, the River Roding to the east, the Wanstead Golf Club to the north and Blake Hall Road to the west. Its area is about 140 acres. It is part of Epping Forest and owned and managed by the Corporation of London. The Corporation purchased the land in 1881. The park is also Grade II listed.

History

The land was originally the site of Wanstead House and before that Wanstead Manor, which can be traced to 1271. The estate was eventually sold off due to debts to become the current Wanstead Park and the surrounding housing estates. It was first officially opened by the Corporation in 1882.

Features

The Park has a number of ponds; Shoulder of Mutton, Heronry Pond, Perch Pond and the Ornamental Waters - which is also the largest.

As well as the ponds there are a couple of old buildings still remaining there. The Temple is the most prominent, with the others being the Grotto (located on the ornamental waters) and the refreshment kiosk.

In late April the Chalet Wood is awash with flowering bluebells.

Activities and Events

The Temple occasionally has open days when the public can look around or take part in activities that are taking place.

Another event is Music in Wanstead Park, held around the beginning of summer. The event is organised by the Aldersbrook Families Association.

On the Ornamental Waters and the Perch Pond fishing is allowed, but only in season.

Hyattstown,Maryland is a small historic town located on Rt 355 in upper Montgomery County, Md. Established in 1798, this crossroad's town provided multiple services such as a blacksmith, butcher shop, schoolhouse and full-service inn. Being the main route, formally know as The Pike, from Washington D.C. to points west, it is likely that many historical figures would have travelled through and perhaps spent the night in Hyattstown.

Though living in Idaho and working as a ski instructor at the time, Gabriela Andersen-Scheiss represented Switzerland in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. On August 5 of that year, 50 runners from 28 countries began the 26-mile, 385-yard trek on a hot, muggy California morning from Santa Monica College. Fourteen minutes into the race, Maine’s Joan Benoit began to pull away from the rest of the pack. She went on to win in a time of 2 hours, 24 minutes, and 52 seconds. Twenty minutes after Benoit finished, then 39-year-old Andersen-Scheiss staggered into the stadium. The L.A. Coliseum crowd looked on as she limped around the track in the race’s final 400 meters. Her right leg had for the most part seized and her left arm was dangling. While the effects of her heat exhaustion were plainly evident, trackside medics saw that she was perspiring, which meant that her body still had some disposable fluids and let her continue her march to the finish line. At the completion of this final lap – which took Andersen-Scheiss five minutes and 44 seconds – she fell across the finish line. Medical personnel tended to her immediately and, miraculously, she was released two hours later.

Harbinger is an adventure CRPG by Silverback Entertainment published in 2003 by Dreamcatcher Interactive. Harbinger takes place on a massive space ship inhabited by multiple warring races and a band of refugees. The player has the choice of 3 distinct characters with their own unique quests, items, and full-game storylines.

Harbinger has no multiplayer and only limited control of character development(there are only four stats). The levels and areas are static and only accessible in storyline order, and then only for their given quest or quests. While it lacks the replay value and allure of random maps and online play, the sheer size of the storyline and the number of levels makes it a decent middlepoint between classic linear CRPG's (e.g. Day of the Tentacle) and the current hack'n'slash style (e.g. Diablo II)

This is not to be confused with the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Harbinger videogame which is also generally referred to as Harbinger.

pau d'arco

The historical information presented here is for educational purposes only. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Pau D'Arco is also known by the names Bow Wood, Taheebo, and LaPacho. Pau D'Arco is native to South America, and comes from the bark of trees that grow in Brazil, Argentina and other tropical regions. Various related species of Pau D’Arco trees grow in the rain forests throughout Latin America. These trees grows upwards of 100 feet, with a trunk circumference exceeding 4 feet. Native peoples have reportedly used Pau D’Arco bark to treat cancer, lupus, infectious diseases, wounds, and many other health conditions. Caribbean folk healers use the leaf of this tree, in addition to the bark, for the treatment of backache, toothache, sexually transmitted diseases, and as an aphrodisiac. Pau D'Arco has powerful anti-fungal and immune building properties. Pau D'Arco is a rich source of iron, which contributes to the elimination of wastes from the body and the assimilation of nutrients. Primary chemical constituents of this plant include napthaquinones (lapachol), flavonoids, carnosol, lapachenole, indoles, alkaloids (tecomine), coenzyme Q-10, steroidal saponins, barium, and iodine. Lapachol and beta-lapachone are the two primary active compounds in Pau D’Arco. According to laboratory tests, both have anti-fungal properties as potent or more so than ketaconazole, a commonly prescribed anti-fungal drug. Because the naphthaquinone active constituents are not water soluble, a tea made from Pau D’Arco bark is ineffective. But the powdered herb has been used successfully to treat immune deficiency disorders, cardiovascular problems, and may be used to reduce blood pressure. Pau D'Arco is also considered a good blood cleanser and detoxifier. It may be used safely to treat all types of infections, stimulate urine flow, reduce fevers, and aid digestion. Pau D'Arco contains properties that are beneficial in relieving inflammation and pain related to bowel problems, ulcers, arthritis and rheumatism. Externally, Pau D'Arco has been used to treat of a variety of inflammatory skin problems & infections, including fungal infections, hemorrhoids, eczema and wounds. Pau D'Arco bark is also known to help lower blood sugar levels, and acts as a mild laxative. It is used as a support drug for lung, prostate and colon cancer, and also believed to increase red blood cell production.
