Contents

Joseph Janus has worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years mainly in the realm of creative and design. He first gained recognition in Los Angeles when he revived the JNCO Jean Company. Janus worked with “an in-house group of illustrators, clothing designers, graffiti artists and promotion experts that serve as an ad hoc ad team to ensure the look and feel of advertising will be anything but tradiotional,”[11] “The key to success, he notes, is to make a product that helps the kids feel good about themselves,”.[11] For his work at JNCO, Advertising Age Magazine named him as one of the “Marketing 100”.[12] His success at JNCO attracted the attention of designer Calvin Klein, who personally brought on Janus to direct the advertising and marketing department. While working there Joseph launched a variety of brand extensions for Calvin.[6]

Music

Janus founded and created Fearless Management, a company to manage artists, produce and write music. His first two records were on Madonna’s Maverick Records.[10] Janus also signed singer-songwriter and active humanitarian Ben Jelen to Linda Perry’s Custard Records.

Fashion

Bodhi Bags were found in retailers such as: Fred Segal, Nordstrom and Bloomindale’s as well as abroad. With this success in the women’s line, Joseph expanded Bodhi into men’s and tech markets (8). Bodhi also partnered with North Shore Animal League and Beth Ostrosky to create a limited addition line of animal friendly bags.
