The 2006/2007 Serie A Season, while originally scheduled to start around the end of August 2006 is essentially in limbo due to the 2006 Calciopoli Scandal.

The season is still scheduled to have 20 teams, with each team playing 38 games, 19 at home and 19 away.

The following teams are tentatively entered in the 2006/2007 season with the final listing to be finalised after the findings of the Calciopoli sports tribunal: Ascoli, Atalanta, Cagliari, Catania, Chievo, Empoli, Fiorentina, Inter, Juventus, Lazio, Livorno, Milan, Palermo, Parma, Reggina, Roma, Sampdoria, Siena, Torino and Udinese.

Subject to the Calciopoli findings, Juventus, AC Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio could be relegated from Serie A. Also subject to this, the number of teams in Serie A could be reduced to 18 or 16 for the 2006/2007 depending on if or how many teams get forcefully relegated.
