Mirugam earned both positive and negative reviews. Rediff stated it as a "brilliant movie and a must watch" while Sify stated it as "tedious". However Aadhi earned good reviews for his acting in his first tamil movie. BEHINDWOODS stated "There couldn’t have been a better choice than Aadhi". He made his big break with S. Shankar's 2009 film Eeram.[1] His father, Ravi Raja Pinisetty has directed 56 films.[2]

Career

"When we were shooting for Mirugam in Madurai, we saw the rushes of the film at a local theatre. That was the first time I saw myself on the big screen. I liked my portrayal. I saw the full film at Udayam theatre in Chennai along with the audience on the first day of its release. The response was good."

—Aadhi on the film, Mirugam[3]

After completing B.E. in computer science, Aadhi had applied for pilot training as he was interested in touring the world. While he was waiting to hear from them, he enrolled for Silambam classes under Pandian master where stars such as Suriya and Karthi used to come.

One day, director Samy who came to see Suriya spotted him. The director was planning his next project post- Uyir. He came to Aadhi's home to give the script of Mirugam. Aadhi instantly accepted the offer as he was desperate for a film offer

Aadhi made hís debut in the Tamil film Mirugam (2007) which upon release received critical acclaim from critics and audiences. In 2009, he starred in the supernatural thriller Eeram that also fetched positive response from critics and emerged a sleeper hit. Aadhi earned high applause from critics. Sify commented "Aathi is a revelation, he has come out with a power packed performance without going overboard and fits the role to a T." The Hindu stated "Putting Mirugam, the film that projected him in a totally different light, far behind, Adhi dons a solid role of a police officer with a heart of gold and does justice to it. His voice and intonation are other pluses."

In 2010 he had two releases, Ayyanar and Aadu Puli which both were commercial films and were average grossers building his commercial value well despite the negative reviews.[4] Sify commented about Aadhi's acting skills in Ayyanar "Aadhi as an actor has improved leaps and bounds and has all the necessary stuff to be an action hero." While behind woods commented about Aadhi in Aadupuli "Aadhi looks good, acts, fights and dances with considerable ease." Indiaglitz commented "Aadhi is on an upgradation mode and 'Aadu Puli' is one more step to his reaching the stardom. He fits well to the mass hero role".

His next film Aravaan released on 2 March 2012 to mixed reviews from the critics. Aadhi has definitely earned fan following with his acting skills with this movie. The Hindu wrote "A solid role for Adhi, who is working hard to gain a stronghold as hero, and the actor has literally slogged it out. Aravaan provides the right platform for him. He has used it well."

There's is a trivia that "Aadhi was further requested by the director to develop eight pack abs, which he accomplished in three months."
BEHINDWOODS wrote "The amount of hard work that Aadhi and Pasupathy have put in for their roles not just in the physical aspect but also in the histrionics segment is palpable. Post Aravaan, Aadhi’s career graph is sure to go north. In fact, it is these two, who shoulder the entire film" .
IMDb wrote "Aadhi has got in to the skin of the lead protagonist literally. His hard-work in portraying the body language of the 18th century security / robber is praiseworthy. He has time and again shown that he is one of those few actors who would do anything to portray the character he plays. "
IBNlive wrote "Aadhi enjoys the challenge of featuring in a period film. As the brave Varipuli, he proves his mettle. He has justified the confidence the director has placed on his acting prowess."
Indiaglitz wrote "Aadhi is impressive. He emotes well and his daredevil stunts complimented by his well-built physique makes it look authentic. He is there giving a solid performance. As Varipuli his antics deserves all applause. He is there leaving his mark as a trusted friend, adorable lover, dutiful guard and man with a mission"
Galatta.com reviewed Aadhi's performance "Rugged look and dark makeup is nothing new to Aadhi and as usual he excels in Aravaan too. Every since his debut Aadhi has been mastering the art with every film that he does. His body language, physique and dialogue delivery skills are perfect for a 14th century warrior. It is also said that the actor developed an eight-pack abs especially for this film; the hard work reflects clearly on screen."

Next flick he came up with is a telugu film "Gundello Godari" in 2013. The tamil version of this is "Maranthen Mannithen"(2013).

Idlebrain's jeevi commented "Adi Pinisetti is raw and fabulous with his spotless portrayal of a fisherman character."

Greatandhra wrote "Aadhi has intensity in him which cannot be missed and he is a good fit to the role of a fisherman. With the right kind of choices, he has the potential to become a tough mass/action hero."
Indiaglitz wrote "Adi stands out for his superb performance"

In 2014 as prince in Kochadaiyaan.
