Shomrim

I am new to Wikipedia and don't understand why my edits to Shomrim are taken down. please undo my edit and take off the inapropriate content because im not sure what that is. Thank you so much. JoelBuchbinder (talk) 01:43, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

I took down your edits because the majority of the edit seemed to read in a non-neutral pattern. You may wish to read up on the neutral point of view, which I jut linked to. --I dream of horses (T) @ 01:49, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
I re-edited and I hope to have done so correctly this time. If you find something wrong please let me know. and ,if you could, just revise it and please don't delete the whole thing. removing edits concerning air crash investigations and qualifying them as third class spam

Someone (AndyTheGrump) is accusing me of putting information about aircraft investigations as third class spam mail on wikipedia. This is outrageous and completely ridiculous. I am an aviation specialist, I was general manager of large airports (among others Schiphol-Amsterdam), a professor in economics (graduated Erasmus University Rotterdam, 1973))and a consultant for many governments world wide (a.o. Netherlands, Indonesia, Chad, Philippines) on issues regarding aviation. I am a registered transport consultant at the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.I can proof that on every account. The problem with aviation accidents is that every country makes it own report of the accident, many are not in English, not all use metric systems. Many reports are not easy to obtain, or simply (against all international rules) not available. This is very frustrating for people working in this field. Everybody likes to avoid the mistakes others made. Not everybody is American, there are also Asians, Africans, Russians, etc. who are entitled to the same knowledge as you and me. For this reason we publish for many years these reports all in the same style and the same format and all in English. This makes comparison easy. Aviation security and safety is not a joke. Because we are talking over small series and the information has to be available for many years we found the solution in publishing them as print in demand by lulu.com. I do not see what is wrong with this. Publishing via a normal publisher means that the series are too large, the books become too expensive (especially for third world countries) and after a certain time the publication is no more available. You should appreciate what we do instead of insulting us. You think we make any money out of this? Think about translation costs, not everybody works for free. This way you do not help wikipedia, but you are a stumble block. You are probably some kind of Johnny the Selfkicker.

@AndyTheGrump and Orientaldecorations: Regarding the above, what you did across a number of articles was a promotional activity. Plainly, that's spamming.--Jetstreamer Talk 14:28, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
I think you don't get it. Since when is literature referring to a specific subject spam or promotion? That is plain nonsense. If that is your simplistic idea you should leave all references and all notes out, mind you they can all be fake!! I doubt you have an academic education otherwise you would know that.If there is a plane crash those concerned need to know what is done about it. In many cases similar problems cause similar accidents. All our books give nothing else then the original text of the official investigation report in English and in the same format, for comparison purposes, we do not add something, neither do we leave anything out. How do you think someone from Nairobi or from Irkuts or Ouagadougou can get hold of a copy of a Russian or Indian or Mongolian investigation report? There is no Russian or some official from Sierra Leona that will ever send you that. Our books go back to 1980, you have no idea how primitive those old reports are. The books are copy-righted to a Dutch public foundation by the name Sagip Kabayan, registered at the Chamber of Commerce in 's Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, under number : 17282016. You can check that out.
Dr. Dirk J. Barreveld, Netherlands
(Orientaldecorations (talk) 14:57, 29 September 2014 (UTC)).
If the material in the books consists only of "nothing else then the original text of the official investigation report", any claim to hold the copyright to it is clearly invalid. AndyTheGrump (talk) 17:01, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of "The Lady in Scarlet"

Thank you for the notification. I do intend that the page "The Lady in Scarlet" be deleted. A more appropriate name is "The Lady in Scarlet (1935 film)", by which it's known on YouTube and elsewhere and found in Google searches (no searches resulted in the former name being found). I created the latter page just before your notification and transferred the contents of the earlier page to it. Akld guy (talk) 21:34, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

Deleted article

Hi,

my article on Kim André Arnesen was deleted, and I wonder what the reasons are, and if the article lacked anything to keep it on Wikipedia.

--Pullmeover (talk) 23:13, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

The article was deleted because you didn't state why the person was important. --I dream of horses (T) @ 01:19, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
OK, the person is one of Norway´s talented music composers with publications also in the US, and has a release on the several times Grammy-nominated record label 2L. You mind if a make the article again? --Pullmeover (talk) 02:18, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
You don't "inherit" notability--all because the record label is notable doesn't mean the artist is. It's probably not a good idea to make the article again. I dream of horses (T) @ 02:21, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Hello! Leaving a message/question about an addition I made to a page

Hello! I added the information about Grayson McCouch, his part in Gotham. How on Wiki would I have done that to link to Gotham and the font/color change? Is there also a way that I could change my user name? What is good to view for Wiki info? Paula Benedetto (talk) 00:48, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

You can link something with two brackets (like [[this]]), and it'll change the color, but not the font.
I'm not sure how to change your signature, but you might get some help with that, and a lot of policies, here. --I dream of horses (T) @ 01:25, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Kaluza-Klein theory page

I just completed edits to the Kaluza-Klein page. It addresses problems noticed by many readers and now is in fairly good shape. I haven't edited before. Is there any feedback mechanism? Do you think further edits in the area of relativity would be appreciated?

Well, you seemed to have started a discussion on the talk page, which is how you're supposed to ask for feedback. It seems like no one has replied.

You "undid" my edit on "FORT STOCKTON" because you "didn't find it constructive"???

Really?

The statue is missing...if you don't feel that is pertinent, I'd like to know why, since it's one of the FIRST things people read on the page.

I was about to upload a photo to depict the fact, which again, I guess YOU wouldn't find constructive?

Glad you speak for Wiki, the interenet and society. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WebcamDebauchery (talkcontribs) 02:48, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers Page

It appears that the page is frozen to edit by a bot to the point where any edit (regardless of relevance) is removed automatically. Please allow for the edit to be made regarding the team being regarded as one of the greatest of all time. I'd argue this is constructive information, as it provides an understanding as to the skill level in a concise point. They are regarded by many to this extent, and that is indeed a fact. Enough with the robo-messages as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.61.117.3 (talk) 2:52, October 1, 2014 (UTC)

Firstly, let me clear up a common misconception. Contrary to popular belief, I am not a bot.
Secondly, I, and most other regulars on this wiki, will accept facts here, and not opinions. --I dream of horses (T) @ 03:11, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Follow Up On 1995 Huskers Page

Forgive me for the assumption, but it seemed strange that the additions were removed literally less than one minute from being added. The characteristics of your message notification also lead me to that assumption strongly.

It seems that you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what a fact denotes. If a large group of individuals state "A", then the fact is that they stated "A". This has no bearing on whether or not "A" is (in fact) true or false. Therefore, declaring that on a Wikipedia page clearly involves a fact, and it does not warrant removal. If you felt that it could have been more clear of the fact that this is a declaration that people state, then you could have modified it accordingly rather than falsely accusing me of page vandalism. That's a gross misuse of authority over a Wikipedia page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.61.117.3 (talk) 04:23, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

I do believe I'm right on point!

76.160.180.127 (talk) 05:06, 1 October 2014 (UTC)Hello "I dream of horses"

I've just noticed that you deleted my comment on "World News". I have a question for you, would you trust a news network that is partial? I do believe that this network is no long impartial, and is no longer in the era of Peter Jennings, who used to report IMPORTANT events, whether he liked the policy surrounding it or not, he was indeed a Reporter. Just think about it for a minute or so, "reporters" have chosen the path to report, not the one to be "pleasers to the general public or government". Personally, I believe it is important. After all it is called "World News", and if you may take some time please note that at least a third of the time is dedicated to commercials, a sixth of the time is dedicated to "world news" (except if something \really bad happens abroad), 7 percent is dedicated to gossip, and then we get at least another 7 percent of the time dedicated to the squirrel/bear/panda/kangaroo/infant being born.... you know what I mean!

At the end of the day, news shall be news, independant and sharp. Therefore, and since Wikipedia is an impartial website, I am asking you to do the rght thing, which is to leave my comment.

PS: 1st time commentng, not sure about the IP thing, but still Upon checkingmy post, why are there 2 references below my post, one is about a ".org", the other one is about harassment? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.160.180.127 (talk) 05:22, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

As for your first question, okay, you might think the network is partial, but others might think differently. That's because you're stating an opinion, and not a fact.
The links are the result of people using <ref></ref> tags on this talk page. I dream of horses (T) @ 05:44, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Hey Dude

How would you like to become the co-founder of the Dudes Lodge? Please say yes. I need help creating the page.Mirror Freak My Guestbook 12:14, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

I'll have to turn down the offer. Not only am I a dudette, but depending on how technical you're going to make the page (is it going to be colorful like your signature?), I might also need help with making the page. I dream of horses (T) @ 16:38, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
I don't think it will be extremely colorful. I'm thinking about the page design being varying shades of Blue or Green. Mainly like a light green background, and some blues here and there. Can we take this discussion to this page. Also it doesn't matter if your a girl, The Dudes Lodge is for anyone wanting to come together and make Wikipedia articles as best as they can be.Mirror Freak My Guestbook 17:09, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
(Another Thing) You can find different shades of Green here, and Different Shades of Blue here. Each color should have the computer code with it. For example, the color code for Black is (#000000)Mirror Freak My Guestbook 17:11, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
(ANOTHER THING) Of course I'll be here to help, I'm pretty sure that Carter will help too.Mirror Freak My Guestbook 17:14, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi I dream of horses, You removed a row with an external link I added to the NoSQL page "because it seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia." I see now that none of the other companies listed have external links the the company websites, but as there's no current article on wikipedia about my company, and as according to the guidelines, I can't add a new article about it, can I have the same content there and just no external link? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Azanebrain (talkcontribs) 17:38, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Sorry about that. Looking back, I shouldn't have reverted your edit, and have reverted myself. However, you are correct in that it's not usually how we do things.
However, you should probably go ahead and read our polices on conflict of interest. --I dream of horses (T) @ 22:57, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

We're new to the Wikipedia and I was just creating a page for our site and you've already marked it up for deletion. Why is that? That sites sells NOTHING, it's a NOT FOR PROFIT organization that serves all tennis facilities, tennis manufacturers, and tennis players as a resource. It's mind blowing that you would mark it as up for deletion without even checking the site. That is a INFORMATION site, not selling anything or promoting anything. I see many other online tennis provider companies here and they are actually taking money for their services. PlayTennisTIA (talk) 16:54, 2 October 2014 (UTC)PlayTennisTIA

It doesn't matter that the site sells nothing and is not for profit. It's clear that you were trying to attract people to the site. Please review our policies about notability, and also about managing your conflict of interest.
Oh, and I just realized I need to report your username. It's aganist policy, since it implies a group account. I dream of horses (T) @ 16:57, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
