Wumengosaurus is an aquatic reptile from the Middle Triassic Guanling Formation of China. Originally described as an eosauropterygian[1], more recent phylogenetic analysis has placed as the sister taxon to a Hupehsuchidae + Ichthyopterygia clade[2]. This analysis, however, refrained from formally repositioning Wumengosaurus.
