Shir Kuh or Shirkuh (Template:Lang-fa; literally: "The lion mountain") is a 4,050-metre (13,287 ft) high mountain in central Iran, in Yazd Province, about 60 miles southwest of Yazd.
Geologically, Shir Kuh is located in the Sanandaj-Sirjan volcanic arc that was formed during the Tertiary (mostly Eocene) volcanism and is made mainly of Jurassic granite surrounded by Cretaceous rocks.[citation needed]
