ManaBus[1] is a future New Zealand express coach operator. Owned by Brian Souter's Highland Global Transport,[2] it will commence operating on the North Island on 21 November 2014.

History

ManaBus will commence operating express coach services on the North Island of New Zealand on 21 November 2014.[3] Advertised fares start at $1 (plus $1 booking fee), using a yield management model as employed by Megabus and Onnibus.[4][5][6]

Services

ManaBus will commence operating on 21 November 2014 with one route from Auckland to Wellington. On 5 December 2014, a second service will commence between Auckland and Tauranga. On 19 December 2014, a further three services will commence between Whangarei and Hamilton, Whangarei and Rotorua, and Auckland and Hamilton.[7]

Fleet

ManaBus will commence with a fleet of Kiwi Bus Builders bodied Volvo B11Rs.[3]
