Reception

In its original release, this movie was a financial flop. But as it became the only movie in which the two leading stars (MGR and Sivaji Ganesan) were featured simultaneously, with time, it gained historical reputation and is now considered a 'one of its kind' Tamil movie for the pairing of these stars in early 1950s.[2]
