The 2014 Sydney hostage crisis is an event on December 15, 2014 where at least twelve people are taken hostage in a Lindt & Sprüngli cafe in Martin Place, Sydney by at least two gunmen suspected to be symphatizers of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. [1]
