History
The idea of creating the Youth City Assembly was originally born to Bela Saria, the Head of Municipal Center for the Protection of CHildrens' Rights. After this there were series of tests and 198 best candidates were asked to make projects regarding the actual themes of Tbilisi. And only after this, the authors of 37 best projects were accepted to work as the members of Tbilisi Youth City Assembly. It was officialy opened in 22th June, 2006 in the Tbilisi City Assembly Red Hall. There were Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava, the members of Tbilisi City Assembly and the PMs attending this ceremony.
Structure
Tbilisi Youth City Assembly consists of 37 members, just like Tbilisi City Assembly. Tbilisi Youth City Assembly is governed by the Chairman and the Secretary General. There are five commissions in the Youth City Assembly:

Chairman
The first Chairman of Tbilisi Youth City Assembly is Grigol Gegelia, 15, the student of Tbilisi 2nd Gymnasium. Grigol was born on 8th February, 1991, in Tbilisi. His father Giuli Gegelia is Architect, professor, Mother - Larisa Lavrelashvili is Chemic.
He has successfuly taken First Certificate in English and Cambridge Advanced in English certificates. In 2001 he graduated from International House Tbilisi.
On 22th June he was elected as the Chairman of Tbilisi Youth City Assembly.
"I am very happy that my friends trusted me and thought that I will be suitable for this demanding position," he said after the elections had finished.
Secretary General
The first Secretary of Tbilisi Youth City Assembly is Arman Gambaryan, 15, the student of Tbilisi 110 Secondary School. Father Manwell Gambaryan is engineer, mother Nana Nahapetyan is .
