8°59′59″N 77°19′52″E / 8.99972°N 77.33111°E Agarakattu is a remote village in the foothills of the Western Ghats, between Tenkasi and Ayikudi, in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Agarakattu is 3 km north of Tenkasi and 2 km east of the Tenkasi-Madurai State Highway. The nearest popular train stations are in Tenkasi and Tirunelveli.
As Agarakattu is connected by both road and rail, the town is growing rapidly in business and agriculture. The business of Agarakattu mainly depends upon agriculture. Agricultural goods, mainly vegetables and food grains, are transported to the different parts of the state and to Kerala. The main crops are paddy, onion, tomato, brinjal, tamarind, green chili, red chili, coconut, mango, and snake guard.
