John Wallis

The Wallis Professorship of Mathematics is a chair in the Mathematical Institute of the University of Oxford. It was established in 1969 in honour of John Wallis, who was Savilian Professor of Geometry at Oxford from 1649 to 1703. The current holder of the chair is Terence Lyons (since 1999).[1] The two previous holders were Sir John Kingman (1969-1985) [2] and Sir Simon Donaldson (1985-1998).[1]
