Dr Jessie MacLaren MacGregor (died March 22 1906) was the first woman to be awarded an MD from the University of Edinburgh, in 1899. She was instrumental in setting up the Muir Hall of Residence for Women Students in Edinburgh, as well as the Hospice, a nursing home for women.[1]
