Kailash Vijayvargiya is an Indian politician and a member of Madhya Pradesh state legislative assembly.[1] He has won the states assembly election consecutively six times since 1990.He was elected the Mayor of Indore Municipal Corporation in 1999.Ex-minister and Congress leader Suresh Seth who lost the mayoral election to Vijayvargiya in 1999, has accused him of clearing the sale of a plot of land owned by the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) while he was mayor in 2004.His strong hold primarily is Indore State assembly no. 2,which marked the greatest victory for BJP in 2013 state assembly elections.He was incharge of the BJP Haryana state assembly election campaign.

The has made controversial statements regarding rape cases in India. “Only when Sitaji crossed the Lakshman Rekha, she was kidnapped by Ravan... If Sitaji [woman] crosses the Lakshman Rekha, then Sitaharan [abduction] is bound to take place as Ravans are out there,” Mr. Vijayvargiya said, narrating an incident from the epic Ramayana while seeking to explain the reason behind the recent spate of crimes against women.
